Garmin has introduced a new smartwatch Venu Sq. They can be seen as a competitor to the new relatively inexpensive Apple Watch SE smartwatch.
By comparison, the original Garmin Venu was seen as competing with last year’s Apple Watch Series 5. The Garmin Venu Sq has been redesigned to look like a clone of the Apple Watch. The watch got a rectangular shape instead of the previous round one, became lighter and more compact, the case frame became aluminum instead of steel.
The novelty is offered in two versions – the basic Venu Sq for $ 200 and the Venu Sq Music Edition for $ 250.
The watch is equipped with a 1.3-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels, Gorilla Glass 3 is used for protection. It supports tracking of heart rate, sleep parameters, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), menstrual cycle, water balance, stress level.
As the manufacturer notes, the watch is suitable for walking, jogging, yoga, swimming (water resistance 5ATM), cycling and other sports – the watch includes more than 20 preloaded modes for both indoor and outdoor activities. There is NFC and support for the Garmin Pay payment system.
Battery life is 6 days in watch mode and 14 hours with GPS on. The Venu Sq Music Edition is complemented by the ability to store music directly on the watch and listen to it without a smartphone.
