Gaming Redmi K40 bypassed in performance almost all smartphones from the Top 10 AnTuTu, losing only to Asus ROG Phone 5

Redmi continues to intrigue with its K40 gaming smartphone. Yesterday we made sure that this model is very thin and equipped with retractable keys, also yesterday Redmi demonstrated a non-standard illumination of the device case (and what gaming smartphone does without a backlight at all?). And today it’s time to show off the performance in AnTuTu.

However, to begin with, another teaser – with a single-chip system. More than a month ago, Redmi announced the release of a gaming smartphone on MediaTek Dimensity 1200, and now, by publishing another teaser image, it has only confirmed this.

In general, there is definitely no doubt that the gaming Redmi K40 is based on Dimensity 1200. And now the performance of the model in AnTuTu has become known. In this benchmark, the smartphone “earned” 724,425 points. An excellent result – in the current AnTuTu rating, only the Asus ROG Phone 5 on the Snapdragon 888 platform is faster – it has 731,376 points. And, for example, the third place Xiaomi Mi 11, also on Snapdragon 888, has 710,572 points. The question immediately arises – how can it be that the model on Dimensity 1200 bypasses the flagships on Snapdragon 888?

Everything is very simple – Redmi gave the test result in the V9 version of the application, while the rating on the official website was compiled according to the V8 version of the application, in which the performance of smartphones is assessed with a lower number of points. According to the V9 version, the current flagships practically reach the 850,000 points mark – and here the difference with the gaming Redmi K40 is already noticeable. On the other hand, 725,000 – 750,000 points according to the V9 version is the level of Snapdragon 870, which is used in the gaming Black Shark 4. So there should not be any special claims regarding performance to the gaming Redmi K40.

iDropNews iPhone 14 presentation will take place on September 13

According to iDropNews, Apple has already decided to hold a fall event for the launch of new devices, which will be held on September 13th.

At this event, Apple is due to introduce the 6.1-inch iPhone 14, 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max, 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro, and 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max. This year, Apple will expand the distinction between professional and non-professional iPhone models. Apple will reportedly equip the iPhone 14 Pro models with the 4nm A16 Bionic SoC, while non-professional phones can cyjdf use the 5nm A15 Bionic SoC that was used in the iPhone 13. Most consumers have no idea what SoC the phone is built on. SoC reuse could help Apple make the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max more price-competitive.

Even if Apple reuses the A15 Bionic SoC in iPhone 14 non-professional phones, it could still give them a different name, such as A16 Bionic. Then the new platform will be called SoC Apple A16 Pro.
