SafeBettingSites.com, which recently reported mobile game downloads exceeded 28 billion in the first half of 2020, talked about the situation with gaming PCs.
According to the published forecast, sales of gaming PCs in 2020 will reach $ 39.2 billion. For comparison: according to Jon Peddie Research, in 2015 the global gaming PC market was equal to $ 24.6 billion, that is, growth in five years exceeded 60%. Of course, the COVID-19 crisis has especially stimulated demand recently, but there has been a steady growth before: for example, in 2016, sales amounted to $ 30.2 billion, which corresponds to an increase of 23% compared to 2015.
At the same time, the segment of high-performance gaming systems not only remains the largest, but is also growing. If in 2015 it accounted for 45% of the market, and mid-level and entry-level gaming PCs occupied 30% and 25% of the market, respectively, then this year the share of high-performance gaming systems will reach 47%, and mid-level systems – 34%. It is obvious that the share of entry-level PCs is declining. This year $ 7.3 billion will be spent on them. By the way, if you look at the same data from a different angle, it turns out that the largest revenue growth – by 76% between 2015 and 2020 – was recorded in the mid-range PC segment. In the segment of high-end gaming computers, revenue growth during this period was 72%.
