The WCCF resource cited the characteristics of the AMD Ryzen 7000 processors, which will not only make their official debut very soon, but will also be available for purchase to everyone. The specifications are detailed, but the prices are indicative so far: they are indicated with an eye to the cost of the current Ryzen 5000 at the start of sales.

The transition from Zen 3 to Zen 4 architecture is expected to bring an 8-10% increase in IPC by itself. At the same time, AMD is talking about a 15% increase in single-threaded performance, 35% increase in multi-threaded performance, and efficiency (performance per watt) should increase by at least 25%. As for the maximum TDP values, it will be 230 W in the case of 16- and 12-core models and 142 W in the case of 8- and 6-core models. But the standard TDP values, of course, are lower (they are presented in the table).

Other features of the Ryzen 7000 include twice the L2 cache (1MB versus 512KB), shared L3 cache, support for PCIe Gen 5.0 and, of course, DDR5. New CPUs will be designed for installation in the AM5 processor socket.

The values ​​of PL1 and PL2 for the new CPUs will hardly change and will amount to 125 and 253 W, respectively. But there will also be an opportunity to remove the limit, thanks to which the Core i9-13900K will be able to consume up to 350 watts. In this case, of course, the motherboard will need a powerful power supply subsystem, and the processor will need a productive CO.

CPU performance in this mode can increase by 15%, although this will depend on the tasks. Whether the Core i9-13900KS, which was previously assigned a frequency of up to 6 GHz, will be released under such conditions is now unclear.
