Ford F-150 Lightning electric pickup receives 100,000 orders in three weeks

Published

on

The recently unveiled Ford F-150 Lightning electric pickup is in strong pre-order phase, with over 100,000 purchase requisitions collected in just three weeks. In comparison, more than 787,000 Ford F-Series pickups with conventional combustion engines were sold in the past year. So the Ford F-150 Lightning may well be as successful as its traditional cousins.

However, competitors diverge faster. For example, Tesla collected 250,000 pre-orders in five days for its Cybertruck pickup truck, and more than 10,000 pre-orders for an electric Hummer in a few hours. However, real sales will put everything in its place. The Ford F-150 Lightning goes on sale next year. This model is not amazing with its characteristics, but it does take its price: the minimum cost of the basic version in the United States, taking into account the existing subsidies, is $ 27,500.
