For the first time in history, NASA launched a rocket from a non-American spaceport: the first of three suborbital rockets with a scientific platform was launched from the Arnhem space center in Australia.

The launch took place with some delay due to adverse weather conditions. “We had several delays due to the weather. It was raining and cloudy during the night.”said Space Center CEO Michael Jones, noting that in the end “A 13-meter rocket with a platform for observing the atmosphere and studying the constellations” started in working order.

He also said that the launched rocket, like the other two, the launch of which is scheduled for July 4 and 12, “will collect valuable scientific information about the physical nature of the Sun and perform a number of observations that can only be made in the southern hemisphere of the Earth”.

Australian Northern Territory Prime Minister Natasha Feils said: “NASA’s presence will make the country’s space industry known to the world, create more jobs for local residents and provide new business opportunities”. It is planned that by 2024 the Arnhem Cosmodrome will conduct at least 50 launches per year.

As expected, after the completion of the program, in order to maintain the environmental cleanliness of the facility, NASA employees will collect “all used parts of hulls and engines and transport them back to the United States”.

The launch is scheduled for August 29th. The Artemis 1 mission involves testing the Orion spacecraft and launching it to the moon. The mission will last from 39 to 42 days. Among other things, one of the most important moments of the mission will be the return of the ship to Earth. Orion will not just return, but will enter the upper atmosphere twice. The first entry will be partial with a further return to a higher orbit, after which a full re-entry and landing will follow. Thus, NASA will test the ship for strength.

As for the rocket, once launched, the SLS will be the most powerful rocket currently in use. It is capable of launching up to 95 tons of cargo into the reference orbit, and in the future, after modifications, the figure can be increased to 130 tons. It is capable of delivering 27 tons to the moon.

NASA expects that the upcoming launch will attract a huge number of people to the beach near the spaceport. Cocoa Beach city officials estimate that between 100,000 and 200,000 people will come to watch the launch.
