Following Apple’s example: Huawei is preparing the first laptop on its own Kirin processor

The Chinese company Huawei has decided to follow Apple’s lead and is going to switch to its own ARM processors for its laptops. The first flagship laptop Huawei on the proprietary Kirin chipset will appear on the market in the very near future. And its specifications have already leaked to the Web.
According to insiders, the new laptop of the Chinese brand will be based on the HiSilicon Kirin 990 chipset in combination with 8 GB of RAM. For data storage, a 512 GB SSD solid state drive will be provided. Also, the equipment of the new items will include a 14-inch display with Full HD resolution.
As the operating system on the laptop, Deepin OS 20 based on Linux is declared. But insiders do not exclude that soon Huawei will transfer the laptop to the proprietary software HarmonyOS platform, which the company began to develop as an alternative to Android.
The laptop itself is codenamed Qingyun L410 and is rumored to be much cheaper than the existing Huawei MateBook 14, although it has similar specs and features. At the same time, there is a possibility that the novelty will support work in the fifth generation cellular networks, since the Kirin 990 has a built-in 5G modem. Support for 5G can make the new laptop stand out from the competition and cement Huawei as a pioneer in next-generation telecommunications technology.
The exact timing and cost of the new Huawei laptop were not disclosed. It only says that the company will first release it on the Chinese home market and only then will it bring it to the world stage.
