The first results of testing Intel Xeon processors of the Emerald Rapids generation have appeared on the Internet. These will be the company’s most powerful server CPUs, which will replace Sapphire Rapids in early 2024.

First tests of Intel Xeon generation Emerald Rapids: good, but not enough to catch up with AMD. Xeon Platinum 8551C and 8558P results appeared on the Internet

So far we are talking about results in Geekbench and only for two models: Xeon Platinum 8551C and Xeon Platinum 8558P. Both processors have 48 cores, 16 MB L3 cache and 192 MB L2 cache. The line will also include the Xeon Platinum 8558P model with the same number of cores, but 96 MB of L2 cache and 260 MB of L3 memory.

The results of the two test CPUs are very close. In single-threaded mode it is about 1350-1400 points, and in multi-threaded mode it is from 48,700 to 51,100 points. In both cases and both modes, this is lower than the result of the 48-core Epyc 9454 of the current Genoa generation.

On the one hand, this is a good result, since it indicates that Intel is catching up with AMD in terms of per-core performance. On the other hand, in the Emerald Rapids line, the highest CPUs will have 64 cores, while Epyc Geno offers 96 cores. The issue of price and energy consumption remains behind the scenes for now.

The newest Toyota Camry has not become a hit in

The joint venture GAC Toyota reported on car sales in February of this year: last month the company sold 43,271 cars. By comparison, GAC Toyota sold 71,875 vehicles in January. The drop in sales is explained by the New Year in China (and, accordingly, the decline in consumer activity during this period), but sales also decreased relative to February last year, by an impressive 35%.

Statistics on pre-orders for the newest Toyota Camry, the ninth generation sedan, have also been announced. Since January 1, a total of 8,049 purchase applications have been issued. And this is not enough: for comparison, 5 thousand orders were placed in China for the newest Toyota Land Cruiser 250 in just an hour. Perhaps Camry sales will increase after March 6, when the new Camry officially enters the Chinese market: then retail prices will be announced, and they are usually lower than pre-order prices.
