First 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display is deprecated

Apple today added the late 2012 13-inch MacBook Pro to its official list of legacy products. This is the first 13-inch MacBook Pro with a Retina display.
Apple first introduced a Retina display in the 15-inch MacBook Pro, which was released in mid-2012. In October of that year, Apple updated the 13-inch MacBook Pro with a Retina display and improved processor. The original 15-inch MacBook Pro was deprecated in July 2020, and now the 13-inch model has followed suit.
Apple designates products that have been discontinued for at least seven years as “obsolete,” which means they cannot receive any hardware services from Apple or official service providers.
