The final versions of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 are being released today, including new features, FaceTime updates, notification changes, and other improvements.

Apple said it plans to allow people to continue using iOS 14 unless they plan to upgrade to iOS 15. For this reason, iOS 14 may only receive minor security updates over time, but new features are likely to remain for iOS 15.

iOS 15 can be installed on the following models:

  • iPhone 6s and 6s Plus;
  • iPhone SE (1st generation)
  • iPhone 7 and 7 Plus;
  • iPhone 8 and 8 Plus;
  • iPhone X;
  • iPhone XS and XS Max;
  • iPhone XR
  • iPhone 11;
  • iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max;
  • iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12;
  • iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max;
  • iPhone SE (2nd generation)
  • iPod touch (7th generation)

The Focus feature allows you to set your own preferences for notifications and home screens. Also in iOS 15, there is a new Weather application that allows you to view weather maps in full screen mode, indicating the amount of precipitation, air quality and temperature. The Weather app design is now also customizable to display the most important weather information for that location, and includes new map modules, an updated 10-day forecast, and new weather graphs. iOS 15 also includes an all-new Safari design, which underwent several changes during the beta period.

“iPhone 13 Pro Max battery is draining like crazy. Apple needs to do something about this.” A common problem in iOS 16 has not gone away

iPhone 13 Pro Max battery is draining like crazy Apple

There were many bugs in iOS 16, and Apple has already released two updates that fixed some of them. However, widespread reports of rapid battery drain continue to appear on various forums.

The 9to5Mac resource published the results of a survey on iOS 16 battery life. 14,000 people took part in the survey, of which 63% of respondents reported that battery life in iOS 16 has become noticeably worse.

“iPhone 13 Pro Max battery is draining like crazy. Apple needs to do something about this.

Here are some user reviews:

  • My iPhone 12 battery life literally halved after I installed iOS16. I fully charge twice a day, which is completely unproductive. Apple definitely needs to do something about this.
  • Like many others, the battery in my iPhone 13 Pro suddenly began to melt before our eyes. Before the update, the battery lasted a whole day (06:30-22:00) and I still had about 20% left. And now I have to charge the battery in the middle of the day, while using my smartphone as before.
  • Previously, my iPhone 12 Pro battery lasted all day without fail. Usually more than 10% remained at bedtime. I estimate that battery usage has increased by about 30%. Even a new battery won’t give me a whole day of use. There really is a problem here that Apple needs to fix.
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max battery is draining like crazy. Working time has dropped from 11-12 hours to only 7 hours. It drains very quickly when I use Facetime. I know it takes a few days for the phone to go back to normal, but it’s been almost a week now. I’m thinking of going back to 15.7.

iOS 15.5 users who have not yet updated to iOS 16 can install iOS 15.7, which includes security updates.

A strange gaming laptop without a discrete graphics card and not at all with Windows. Lenovo is preparing the release of the IdeaPad Gaming Chromebook

Lenovo is preparing a gaming laptop of the IdeaPad Gaming line, which, firstly, does not work under Windows, and secondly, does not have a discrete graphics card.

A strange gaming laptop without a discrete graphics card and not at all with Windows. Lenovo is preparing the release of the IdeaPad Gaming Chromebook

The full name of the novelty is the IdeaPad Gaming Chromebook, and here it is already clear that Chrome OS acts as the OS. But the operating system here is just one of the oddities of this gaming laptop. The second, as already mentioned, is the lack of a discrete graphics card. What’s more, it’s not just some Ryzen 7 6800U, whose iGPU is so powerful that such a laptop could hardly be called a gaming laptop. Instead, Intel processors serve as the heart here: Core i3-1215U or Core i5-1235U. Recall that their graphics cores are very modest in their capabilities, so you don’t even have to think about some modern demanding games. Moreover, the laptop also has a screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, which creates an additional load on the GPU.

As a result, it is completely unclear why the laptop is gaming, but here even the design is the same as in other Lenovo gaming models.

As for the rest of the parameters, the novelty is equipped with a 120-Hz IPS screen with a diagonal of 16 inches, a 512 GB SSD, 8 GB of RAM, a pair of USB-C ports, a pair of USB-A, microSD, Wi-Fi 6 and an aluminum cover.

Price data is not yet available.

The latest test build of Windows 11 has a feature that users have been asking for a long time. Now, when you right-click on the taskbar, you can open the “Task Manager” from the context menu.

By popular demand, a long-awaited feature has appeared on the Windows 11 taskbar

“Based on your feedback, we’ve added a link to Task Manager when you right-click on the taskbar,” Microsoft’s Amanda Langowski and Brandon LeBlanc said in a statement.

In addition, Insiders have received access to the function of rearranging icons in the notification area, however, not all participants in the Early Access program will be able to use this feature yet.

In addition, on the Dev channel, Microsoft has begun rolling out new customizations for widgets. It is now possible to show the widget board when hovering over an icon in the taskbar.

And on the Beta channel, they reintroduced a special version of the taskbar for devices with touch screens. This panel will only appear when you disable or fold the keyboard on 2-in-1 devices, that is, when you need to use only the screen.

It is not yet clear when these features will appear in the release.
