Facebook to campaign against Apple for giving users more control over their personal data in iOS 14
Facebook decided to organize newspaper campaign against Apple. The company believes that the upcoming changes in iOS 14 regarding data collection and ad targeting are harmful to small businesses.
The news will appear in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Washington Post under the headline “We Are Against Apple and Small Business Around the World.” They will explain the upcoming changes in iOS 14 that will limit the ability of companies like Facebook to collect data about mobile users and serve them ads.
Facebook already told investors that Apple’s changes, which are due to take effect early next year, will pose significant challenges as the majority of social media advertisers are small businesses. Apple responded by accusing Facebook of “disregarding user privacy.”
“While limiting the use of personalized advertising does affect large companies like us, these changes will be devastating for small businesses,” says Facebook. The social network, citing its own data, claims that ads that do not include personalized targeting generate 60% less sales than ads aimed at consumers. In response to Facebook complaints, Apple has already postponed the implementation of the new policy, which was slated for the fall.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has previously also criticized Apple’s expensive smartphones. In addition, the social network campaigned against Apple’s 30% commission for in-app purchases for certain services that only work online due to the pandemic. In August, Apple blocked the Facebook app in the App Store, which informed users that some of the money they spent on in-app purchases or donations remained as a tax in the app store.
In addition, Apple said it would not cut fees until June 2021. However, in order to support small businesses, the commission for developers with a turnover of up to $ 1 million per year was reduced to 15% starting next year.

Tomorrow NASA will launch the Capstone spacecraft to the moon. It will allow to calculate the orbit for the future American lunar station Gateway

The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration has postponed the launch of the Capstone spacecraft from June 27 to June 28. The reason for the postponement of the launch is to conduct a “final check of the systems” of the launch.
Capstone should help calculate the orbit for the future lunar station Gateway. The spacecraft weighing about 25 kg is planned to be launched from Rocket Lab’s spaceport in New Zealand. NASA believes that Capstone will reach the goal in three months and spend at least six months in orbit. The space department indicates that the Capstone trajectory scheme is such that the device will arrive in its lunar orbit on November 13, regardless of the launch date “in the current period” – which is any day before July 27.
