Exynos platforms will appear in a new type of device. Samsung to create SoC for mixed reality headsets
Samsung is going after Apple to release its mixed reality headset. The device will be released either at the end of this year or early next. There are no details about it yet, but it is reported that Samsung is also going to release its own Exynos single-chip systems for headsets.
Considering that these are only plans for now, the upcoming Samsung headset will apparently either rely on some foreign platforms or on existing Exynos SoCs.
However, new platforms for mixed reality headsets may not be entirely new. It is reported that Samsung has not yet decided whether it will develop these SoCs from scratch or simply adapt existing solutions.

iOS 18 will add a new mode to AirPods Pro
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman writes that the AirPods Pro won't see any hardware changes in 2024. However, he stated the following: “The big news will be the new hearing aid mode that will arrive with iOS 18.”
AirPods already offer Live Listen, which launched with iOS 12 in 2018. This feature essentially turns the iPhone into a directional microphone, transmitting audio recorded by that iPhone to the AirPods in real time.
In 2021, Apple also introduced Conversation Boost to AirPods Pro, which boosts microphone reception directly in front of you to better hear who's talking. A 2022 study found that some of the existing features of the AirPods Pro are already comparable to much more expensive dedicated devices.
More details about this new iOS 18 feature for AirPods Pro users are unclear. However, this is not the first time Gurman has written about Apple's plans to add new features to AirPods for users with hearing problems. Last year, he reported that Apple was also working on a hearing test feature for future AirPods.

Two AirPods 4 models, new AirPods Max with USB-C will be released this year, and new AirPods Pro with a fresh chip are expected in 2025
According to the latest information provided by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is planning to release several new AirPods models later this year.
Gurman previously reported that Apple plans to release two fourth-generation AirPods models and update AirPods Max “at the end of 2024.” On Sunday, February 18, he confirmed that the plan was “still underway.”
Gurman expects the entry-level fourth-generation AirPods to feature a new design with an improved fit, improved sound quality, and an updated charging case with a USB-C port. He’s also expecting more expensive fourth-generation AirPods with active noise cancellation and a speaker in the charging case that can play audio for Find My location tracking.
According to him, Apple plans to stop producing second- and third-generation AirPods after launching two fourth-generation models.
The updated AirPods Max are expected to feature a USB-C port instead of Lightning for charging and wired audio playback, but there won’t be any other major changes, according to Gurman. He said the over-ear headphones may also be available in new colors.
Gurman expects new AirPods Pro to launch in 2025 with design changes and an “upgraded chip” for improved audio quality.

Artificial intelligence in your headphones. Google is working on bringing Gemini to such devices
Google wants to add its latest chatbot Gemini not only to smartphones but also to headphones.
A mention of this was found in the Google application code, and there is a whole line there that says that Gemini will be available in headphones.
Let us remind you that Gemini was recently released on Android, where it can replace the usual Assistant. At the same time, headphones, even Google Buds, will still launch Google Assistant, and not Gemini, when the assistant is launched, even if the latter is installed. Apparently, this is exactly what can soon be changed.
Given that Gemini is a much more capable conversation partner than Assistant, this replacement will clearly appeal to many users.
