Exynos loses to Snapdragon again: Exynos 2200 CPU is only 5% faster than Exynos 2100 CPU
According to TechAltar, in tests, the Samsung Exynos 2200 single-chip system was indeed not much faster than its predecessor.
The octa-core processor included in the Samsung Exynos 2200 is only 5% faster than the Exynos 2100 CPU. This is much less than expected, as new generation flagship SoCs usually provide at least 15-20% improved performance.
A slight improvement in CPU performance could be forgiven if the new platform offered an outstanding performance graphics accelerator. However, measurements show that the Xclipse 920 GPU based on the AMD RDNA2 architecture is only 17% faster compared to the Exynos 2100 GPU.

NASA’s Ingenuity helicopter survives a blackout on Mars

NASA has reestablished contact with its Ingenuity helicopter on Mars.
The team’s chief engineer, Travis Brown, explained that radio contact was lost for six Martian sols — just under six days and six hours — after Ingenuity’s 49th flight.
According to the expert, disconnection was not initially a serious problem. Is Dimensity 9300 Enough Power for PC? MediaTek confirmed the use of Cortex-X4 and Cortex-A720 cores, but did not mention small cores

In addition, the configuration of the new SoC will include Cortex-A720 cores and Immortalis-G720 GPUs. It is important to note that MediaTek did not mention anything about the small cores of the Cortex-A520 or any other. And some time ago, an insider Digital Chat Station reported that Dimensity 9300 will receive four Cortex-X4 cores and four Cortex-A720. That is, apparently, the new platform will not have small cores at all. Of course, it’s too early to talk about this confidently, but so far MediaTek’s statement indirectly confirms the rumors.
Recall that Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, according to available data, will have a configuration of 1 + 5 + 2, that is, there will be only one super-core, and there will be two small cores. This configuration is unlikely to compete with the 4 + 4 of the Dimensity 9300.
It also becomes clear from MediaTek’s statement that at least the company’s upcoming top platform will not receive an Nvidia GPU. Such rumors have already appeared twice on the Web, yesterday the companies confirmed them, but so far this only applies to automotive platforms.
