The Galaxy S21 series will go on sale early next year. The new phones will be announced on January 14 and will go on sale on January 29, the source said. We already know what the phones will look like thanks to the CAD renders. The main specs of the three phones have now been revealed, along with some interesting details.

The leak confirms that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus and Galaxy S21 Ultra in two processor variants. In some markets, the phone will be powered by an Exynos 2100 processor, and in others, the Snapdragon 875. The Exynos chipset will be better energy efficient than its predecessors, so battery life should be extended. It is also said to match or even surpass the Snapdragon 875 in performance.

Below are the specs and functions of each model as reported by Android Police:

Galaxy S21

The standard Galaxy S21 will have a 6.2-inch LTPS display with FHD + resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. There is no information about RAM and storage, but it should vary from market to market.

There will be three cameras on the back of the phone, the configuration of which is the same as the Galaxy S20: a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 12MP main sensor and a 64MP telephoto lens. The selfie camera can get a 10-megapixel sensor.

Cameras will receive software updates such as: support for 4K recording at 60fps on all cameras; Supports 60fps recording in Super Steady Stabilization mode and the ability to automatically switch between 30 and 60fps depending on lighting conditions. Other announced features are 8K video recording at 30fps, dual recording support (front and rear cameras simultaneously) and improved night mode.

The new Samsung will receive a 4000 mAh battery. The phone will run One UI 3.1 based on Android 11 and will have 5G, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 support. It will be available in the colors Phantom Violet, Phantom Pink, Phantom Gray and Phantom White. Like the Galaxy Note 20, the Galaxy S21 will have a plastic back cover. Samsung claims the Galaxy Note 20’s plastic case has been better received than expected.

Galaxy S21 Plus

The Galaxy S21 Plus will ship with a large 6.7-inch display, but its resolution is now FHD + instead of QHD +. It also has a 120Hz refresh rate.

The rear camera configuration is also 12MP + 12MP + 64MP and the same software features as the standard variant. The battery capacity has been increased to 4800 mAh. It will also run One UI 3.1 based on Android 11 and will be available in Phantom Silver, Phantom Black and Phantom Violet colors. There is no confirmation as to the material from which the back panel of the Galaxy S21 Plus will be made.

Galaxy S21 Ultra

The Galaxy S21 Ultra is said to have one of the best displays on the market. The 6.8-inch screen features a WQHD + LTPO display with a variable refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz and a maximum brightness of 1600 nits. The contrast ratio has been increased to 3,000,000: 1.

The camera block includes: 12MP ultra wide-angle camera, 108MP sensor, which is a newer version of the S20 Ultra sensor; 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and another 10MP super telephoto lens with 10x optical zoom providing 100x digital zoom. Also on the Galaxy S21 Ultra there is a laser focusing system.

There is a possibility that the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra will support the S Pen, but the smartphone will not have a stylus slot.

Design and price

The source confirms that the designs of the three phones are in line with what the CAD renders showed. He claims to have seen images of smartphones but is unable to display them to protect his insider source.

In terms of price, the Galaxy S21 series is said to be cheaper than the Galaxy S20 series due to the recession and pandemic to make them more competitive. Unfortunately, there is no specific information on how much each model will cost. There is also no confirmation that the phones will ship with a charger and headphones.

According to rumors, the production of Samsung Galaxy S21 series smartphones has already started.
