Every second tablet buyer chooses only between Apple and Samsung. IDC evaluated the market in the first quarter
IDC analysts assessed the tablet market in the first quarter of 2023. According to their calculations, the leader in the market, as always, is Apple. Its result is 10.8 sold tablets, which corresponds to a share of 35.2%.
Samsung confidently takes the second place, having sold 7 million tablets and taking 23.1% of the market. That is, the two companies account for more than 50% of the tablet market.
Huawei, currently in third place, is more than three times behind Samsung. Huawei sold 2 million tablets and took 6.6% of the market.
The top five also included Lenovo and Amazon, which sold 1.9 and 1.4 million tablets, respectively.
It should be noted that all market leaders showed a decline in sales by 9.7% to 62%. The market as a whole sank by 19.1%, to 30.7 million devices.
Teclast introduced the T40S tablet, which stands out for having a 2K screen for under $200.
The novelty received a 10.4-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 2000 x 1200 pixels, but without an increased frame rate.
In addition, the tablet has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory, but the heart is the old MediaTek MT8183 SoC, which scores only about 160,000 points in AnTuTu 9.

Apple Music Classical app is now available for Android, but not yet available for iPad and Mac
The Apple Music Classical app for listening to classical music is finally available for Android.
Recall that the Apple Music Classical app debuted in March. It’s a standalone app that doesn’t depend on regular Apple Music, and it didn’t exist on Android until today. You need an Apple Music subscription to use the service.
Interestingly, Apple Music Classical is still not available on Mac, and there is no optimized version for iPad. In addition, the service cannot be used through CarPlay.
