European Parliament votes to ban sales of new petrol cars by 2035
The European Union is one step closer to banning the sale of new gasoline-powered vehicles. The European Parliament has voted in favor of an EU Council agreement requiring all new cars and light trucks to produce zero CO2 emissions by 2035.
In addition, officials will now require that at least 25% of car sales (and 17 percent of trucks) come from CO2-neutral models if a company wants to qualify for incentives between 2025 and 2029. This benefit will end in 2030.
Starting from the end of 2025, the European Commission will publish a report every two years on progress in reducing emissions. The Council has yet to approve the agreement before it enters into force.

In China, an orgy of discounts on cars is raging. Discounts reach 5000-6000 dollars, and somewhere they can give a whole car

In China, prices for cars fell. According to the Chinese Cars resource, many brands or their dealers offer cars at huge discounts, and in one case, you can get a second car as a gift!
Almost all major market players offer discounts. The Chery Tiggo 8 Plus, for example, is on sale for around $4,500, bringing the base version to just $14,000. BYD machines are on sale with discounts up to $3,000.
The premium brand Zeekr lures otherwise: the 001 electric car is offered 22-inch wheels and a Z-Sport exterior and interior package, which would cost $5,100 in total. The Changan Deepal sub-brand offers both discounts and gifts at once, for a total of approximately $6,400.
But one of the Toyota dealers did the most impressive. When you buy the bZ4X electric crossover at full price, you get a budget Toyota Vios sedan as a gift, which in itself costs almost $11,000!
The situation with huge discounts began to take shape since the beginning of the year, when Tesla cut the prices of their cars very much. The source adds that most of the discounts do not apply to the newest gasoline models, but, as we can see, there are exceptions.

This is the successor to the Hyundai ix35. Presented brutal crossover Hyundai Mufasa

Hyundai introduced the new Hyundai Mufasa crossover, which is positioned as a replacement for the Hyundai ix35 model. So far, this is a concept, but the serial production version can be seen during the Shanghai Motor Show on April 18, and sales will begin in early July.
The car has high ground clearance, a pronounced off-road body kit and matching tires, as well as running boards and reinforced bumpers. Above is an unusual trunk. In the area of the rear left pillar is a strange element, the purpose of which is still unclear.
At the rear, Hyundai designers have created brake lights in the shape of an oval, inside which is the letter logo of the Hyundai brand. A duplicate brake light is located on the rear spoiler.
Body dimensions are 4475 x 1850 x 1665 mm, wheelbase is 2680 mm. Salon Hyundai Mufasa will be minimalistic. There are practically no physical buttons on the front panel, and all control is placed on the touch screen. The driver also has access to a digital dashboard.
The production car will be equipped with a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated G4NJ engine with a maximum output of 161 hp. A hybrid version will also be available.

Geely introduced a new car brand designed to carry passengers

Geely has announced the launch of a new Cao Cao Automobile brand. The first car will be presented on March 29, it is known that it will be called Cao Cao 60.
Geely already operates its Cao Cao Mobility-branded taxi division, which competes with Didi (China’s alternative to Uber), has 150 million users and is aiming for an IPO in 2023.
The new automotive brand Geely will focus on the production of vehicles designed to carry passengers. Previously, Cao Cao Mobility used electric vehicles from Ruilan Auto and the Geely Geometry brand. It was mainly a Geometry A sedan with a range of 600 km and a Ruilan Maple 80V minivan (by Ruilan Auto) supporting battery swap. The agreement between Ruilan and Cao Cao was signed in April 2022. Ruilan Auto is a joint venture between Lifan and Geely. It is an automaker currently focusing on electric vehicles with replaceable batteries.
In September last year, it was reported that Cao Cao Mobility and Geely’s self-driving driving division began a collaboration on a robotic taxi project to build a self-driving platform.
Geely Holding owns many brands, including Lotus, Volvo, Zeekr, Lynk&Co and many more. A month ago, Geely announced another series called Galaxy, which will release seven new models in the next two years.
