Judging by the screenshot posted on the Web, the Starlink satellite Internet deployed by SpaceX began to work much faster – the data transfer rate measured in Germany turned out to be even higher than that promised by Elon Musk. Recall, he talked about 300 Mbit / s for a year, and now it is already reaching 560 Mbit / s! As a reminder, as of February of this year, Starlink’s speed was only 100 Mbps. It turns out that in six months it has increased more than five times.
It is clear that there are not so many subscribers to the service so far (although the queue of 500,000 people has already lined up and continues to grow), so the network is able to demonstrate such records, but after all satellites are put into orbit, and SpaceX does this with enviable consistency, the Starlink service will clearly be able to provide speeds higher than the designated 300 Mbps limit.
The speed of sending data to the Network is much lower than the receiving speed – 38.78 Mbps, but this is typical for any asymmetric channel. It is interesting that the measurement was carried out on May 13, but since then the Starlink grouping has grown by another 52 satellites.
