Elon Musk’s Neuralink will not yet be able to experiment on humans. The FDA did not give the company permission

Billionaire Elon Musk’s Neuralink is yet to begin human trials. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) denied the company’s request to test its brain-computer interface in humans. The FDA attributed its refusal to safety concerns.

The main safety concerns relate to the device’s lithium battery, the potential for tiny implant wires to migrate to other areas of the brain, and whether (and how) the device can be removed without damaging brain tissue.

The chip’s battery may become excessively hot or even damaged, and the FDA does not yet have data to consider such an outcome as very unlikely. In addition, management specialists are concerned about potential problems when removing the implant. Apparently, Neuralink either did not provide the necessary data, or it was not enough. In addition, the FDA was confused by the early data on the death of guinea pigs in Neuralink laboratories.

Recall that last year, Elon Musk said that the company would receive FDA approval within six months. As you can see, this did not happen. How long it will take Neuralink to solve problems and convince the FDA is still difficult to even guess.

Headphones Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 will measure the owners temperature

Huawei introduced the FreeBuds Pro 2+ wireless headphones. According to her, these are the world’s first headphones with the function of measuring the pulse and body temperature of its owner. The novelty is equipped with a dual-mode heart rate sensor and supports the “industry’s first 3D intelligent temperature measurement algorithm.” Data on the user’s heart rate and body temperature in real time is sent to his smartphone, and in case of suboptimal performance, the owner of the headphones will receive a notification.

As for the direct duties of Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2+, sound reproduction, the headphones received 11 mm drivers, support for “deep bass” (low frequencies reach 14 Hz) and active noise reduction: a three-microphone system allows you to block extraneous noise up to 47 dB. The headphones also support Huawei L2HC and LDACTM codecs and provide high-definition spatial sound transmission. Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2+ has several sound playback modes, for example, as in a concert hall or a cinema, and a six-axis position sensor is responsible for tracking the movements of the user’s head.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will get brand new and fully

According to recent data, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 single-chip system can receive a 1 + 2 + 3 + 2 format configuration.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will get brand new and fully 64-bit cores

According to insider Kuba Wojciechowski, we are waiting for one Hunter ELP super-core, which Qualcomm itself will call Kryo Gold Plus, two Hunter cores (Titanium), three Hunter cores (Gold) and two Hayes (Silver). The platform itself is codenamed Lanai or Pineapple.

If we compare this with early information, then we are probably talking about Cortex-X4, Cortex-A715, Cortex-A710 and Cortex-A510 / 515. However, the insider says that the Hunter and Hayes cores, that is, all cores, will be completely new solutions, that is, apparently, not Cortex-A715 and the others listed above. The new cores will not support 32-bit computing, which means that all 2024 flagships that will receive Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will be fully 64-bit following the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro.

In addition, the new platform will receive an Adreno 750 GPU with a frequency of 770 MHz, although this is not the final value.

Wojciechowski was previously the first to point out that Xiaomi will switch to using JLQ platforms. In addition, he was the first to discover information about the modified configuration of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
