Elon Musk showed up after a long absence. He met with the Pope
The head of Tesla and SpaceX, who is extremely active on Twitter, has not posted anything on the social network since June 21 – many began to worry if something happened to Elon Musk. But today he made himself felt: it turns out that Musk met with the Pope.
“It was a great honor for me to meet with Pope Francis the day before”, – Musk wrote on Twitter, but did not give details of the meeting with the pontiff. There are already several recent messages by Elon Musk on the social network, in one he cites the wise words of Sonic the Hedgehog about death outside the game.

Until June 16, Musk averaged 145 tweets or retweets per week, about 21 per day, according to Axios. Then the activity began to decrease, and in the period from June 21 to June 30, not a single entry appeared on the Mask page. Elon Musk’s last message before his kind of vacation was a photo of a sign at a gas station showing soaring gasoline prices in the United States. A clear hint that Tesla cars do not need gasoline.

WhatsApp users will be banned from taking screenshots of files for one-time viewing
WhatsApp developers are working on a new feature that will prevent users from taking screenshots and capturing video from the screen when opening files for a one-time view. The innovation has already been implemented in the beta version of the messenger for Android.
So, in the future mobile version of WhatsApp, users will be notified before sending a file with a single view that the recipient will be able to open the photo or video only once and will not be able to resend it to anyone, save it, copy it or take a screenshot. There are no such notifications or warnings in the current version of WhatsApp. True, at the same time, nothing prevents the recipient from recording a video or photographing content on another smartphone.
Recall that recently the release of a full-fledged WhatsApp client for desktop PCs and laptops running Windows took place.

Xiaomi will stop developing MIUI for eight smartphones. Among them are Redmi Note 9, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Redmi 10X and Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra

Xiaomi today announced that it will stop working on beta firmware versions for nine of its smartphones from October 31 this year: Xiaomi 10 Ultra, Redmi K30S Extreme Commemorative Edition, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Redmi Note 9 4G, Redmi 10X, Redmi 10X Pro , Redmi K30 5G Extreme Edition and Redmi Note 9.
Naturally, this does not mean at all that all these models will immediately stop receiving software updates – fresh firmware for them will continue to be released for a long time, as beta versions are transferred to the release (final) status. However, we can already say that these models will not receive anything fresher than MIUI 13 (MIUI 14 will not be released until November).
Xiaomi also announced the recruitment of participants in the Android 13 beta testing group for the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition gaming smartphone – the test will be launched before the end of this month.

Rostec introduced an electric motor for drones

Roselectronics Holding, a member of Rostec, presented a synchronous electric motor for a wide range of applications at the Army-2022 forum. Due to its low weight, efficiency and reliability, the development can be used to create helicopter-type unmanned aerial vehicles.
Among the advantages of a synchronous motor over an asynchronous one are a greater power and efficiency factor, a wider range of speed adjustment, high operational reliability, and better weight and size indicators. The mass of the product is 3 kg, the engine, developed by the Kaluga Electromechanical Plant of the Ruselectronics holding, can be used in helicopter-type drones.
“Our UAVs have proven themselves well in real combat conditions. This technique is also in demand in the civilian market. Now the industry faces a big and important task of import substitution of many components, including power plants. I am sure that the new domestic compact electric motor will help UAV developers in solving this problem.”, – said Oleg Yevtushenko, Executive Director of Rostec.
Synchronous motors are also used in industrial ventilation and air conditioning systems, pneumatic systems and motor vehicles.
