Elon Musk said that Tesla cars will be serviced super-fast – like in Formula 1. Tesla users advise instead to finally establish proper quality control in factories

Elon Musk made another loud statement on Twitter: he announced the acceleration of branded services – he said that they would work as fast as a team of mechanics during a pit stop of a Formula 1 car.

Of course, this is just a figurative comparison, in fact, Musk wants as many issues as possible to be resolved right at the hour of the user’s request, and within this framework, work is being done to improve Tesla services. But users of the company’s electric vehicles want something else – so that in principle they don’t have to contact the service (or contact as little as possible). And for this it is necessary to improve the quality of the cars themselves, and to establish proper quality control at the factories.

One of the commentators shared an interesting statistic: according to his data, in 2018, 43% of Tesla Model 3 users contacted the service during the first month of operation of the car, and already in 2022 there were 69% of such users. This suggests that in the race for the number of cars produced and the improvement of quarterly numbers, Tesla is inevitably losing in the fight for quality.

Here is an example of the owner of the Tesla Model Y Performance, which he shared in the comments on Musk’s tweet. The man said that the power plant of his electric car turned off right in the middle of the road on a run of only 710 miles (1140 km). The Model Y has been in service for 2 weeks now and it’s still unclear what the problem is. “I can say that Musk needs to focus on original quality, not empty promises, otherwise I will exit Tesla and get rid of my shares”, wrote the disgruntled Model Y owner.

Tesla electric cars may be banned in California due to

The California Department of Motor Vehicles has filed a complaint with the Office of Administrative Hearings against Tesla for incorrect advertising of an electric vehicle autonomous driving system. Lawyers representing the department believe that the word and phrase “autopilot” and “fully autonomous driving” used by the company in advertising materials mislead potential buyers and give them a false idea of \u200b\u200bsafety.

In a statement, the California Department of Motor Vehicles is requiring Tesla to change the description and positioning of the features mentioned above when advertising and selling electric vehicles in California. In particular, the department asks the company to communicate in promotional materials about the limitations of these options in the same way as they are reported on the official Tesla website. Otherwise, the agency will insist on revoking Tesla’s license to sell cars in the state. It is noted that in this case, the restrictions will not affect the owners of already sold cars.

Tesla has 15 days to defend its rights in court. The company has not yet commented on the situation.

The US is not the first country where Tesla has been targeted by the authorities for misleading ads for autonomous driving. In the summer of 2020, a Munich court for the same reasons banned Elon Musk’s company from using the word “autopilot” in advertising for Tesla electric vehicles.

Meanwhile, Elon Musk announced the release of a new beta version of Tesla Autopilot: FSD Beta 10.69 will be released in the US on August 20.

There are no more details about Geely’s upcoming electric car, but as far as the HarmonyOS Smart Cockpit is concerned, it’s a pretty smart system. So, for example, it automatically turns on the dark theme of the media system design depending on the time of day, and also automatically turns on air recirculation at the entrance to the tunnel. The tight integration of HarmonyOS Smart Cockpit allows you to display the navigation running on your phone anywhere – even on the projection screen, even on the dashboard, even on the central display of the media system. And this, of course, is far from all its possibilities.
