Elon Musk has a competitor: Thoma Bravo also decided to buy Twitter
On Friday this week, Thoma Bravo LP took to Twitter to express interest in drafting an acquisition proposal that would rival Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s $43 billion bid.
Private equity firm Thoma Bravo, which managed more than $103 billion in assets as of late December, told Twitter that it was exploring an acquisition of the well-known social network, according to people familiar with the situation.
It is unclear how much Thoma Bravo will be willing to offer Twitter and whether such a competing bid will be made. This was stated by sources who asked not to be identified as the matter is confidential.
A spokesperson for Thoma Bravo declined to comment, and Twitter representatives did not respond to a request for comment. Earlier, the New York Post also reported that Thoma Bravo is considering acquiring Twitter.
Elon Musk is confident that he will buy all of Twitter. In case the board of directors refuses, he has a plan B.
