Dreams Come True: The New Android 12 Beta Brings Native Long Screenshots, One Of The Most Awaited Android Features

Google today released a fresh test version of Android – Android 12 Beta 3. The update brings a number of features that were previously unavailable to test participants.

First, Android 12 now has the native long scrolling screenshot feature that Android users have been waiting for for years.

Google has experimented with this feature in beta versions of Android 11, but it never appeared in the stable version of Android 11.

When attempting to take a screenshot, the user will now see a Capture more button. As the developers explained, unlike third-party solutions, Google wanted to create a universal solution that could work in any application throughout the system. Hence the launch delays.

In addition, Android 12 Beta 3 introduces a new universal search by device, faster switching of screen modes from vertical to horizontal mode and vice versa – 25% faster, as well as some other improvements. The new auto-rotate feature uses not only the accelerometer, but also face recognition using the front camera.

Android 12 Beta 3 is already rolling out to supported Pixel smartphones participating in the Android Beta program, which includes Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL, Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, and Pixel 5.

According to Google’s timeline, the upcoming Android 12 Beta 4 will be the final beta, followed by one candidate build in August, followed by a stable Android 12 release for AOSP (Android Open Source Project) devices and Pixel smartphones not participating in the beta program. Android.
