DJI OM 5 Portable Gimbal Introduced

Published

on

DJI today announced the OM 5, the next generation portable gimbal for smartphones. DJI OM 5 is one third smaller than its predecessor, and also has an extension cable.

The OM 5 features a 3-axis mechanical gimbal that physically moves to counteract camera movement. As a result, the picture on the video is very natural and smooth, which only electronic stabilization cannot provide.

Also new to this model is the extension rod, which allows the gimbal to be used as a selfie stick or to extend the camera’s range for very low or high shots.

DJI OM 5 combines this equipment with the DJI Mimo app, which allows you to capture videos and images and provides a wide range of functions and capabilities. The new ActiveTrack 4.0 feature allows you to track your subject as soon as you mark it on the screen, even as it moves around the frame to keep it in focus. Gesture control lets you take photos and videos with hand gestures instead of using the self-timer.

ShotGuides recognizes your surroundings and recommends helpful shooting tips and creative templates. ShotGuides will overlay templates onto your frame so you can easily play them back, then combine all takes and turn them into a rendered video with a theme and soundtrack.

Other features include DynamicZoom, which recreates popular zoom modes, time-lapse photography, tweens and hyperlapse, panorama, rotation, and beauty effects. For some of them, the gimbal will move automatically at preset intervals.

The DJI OM 5 costs $ 159.

In the near future, thousands of Tesla owners will be able to test the FSD autopilot

Published

on

From next week, Tesla plans to give access to the FSD (Full Self-Driving) autopilot function to approximately 1,000 people a week. At the moment, only about 2,000 drivers can use FSD in general.

At the same time, as mentioned earlier, drivers will have to prove that they themselves drive well. Telemetry data from the last week and Tesla Insurance calculator will be used for estimation.

During the first days, only those drivers who will be assessed for the maximum 100 points will receive access. Tesla will then lower the entry threshold little by little, but it’s unclear how much.

Also remember that access to the FSD function, which is still in beta, costs $ 10,000. So not every Tesla owner will be able to try out the best autopilot available in a production car.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 may receive a solar panel

Published

on

Samsung has been producing smartwatches since 2013. The most recent novelties are now the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic (review). And the company continues to work in this direction.

A new smartwatch patent was obtained by Samsung from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and describes “An electronic device containing multiple types of solar cells.”

the patent describes a Samsung Galaxy Watch with a strap that has solar panels embedded on both sides of the watch case. Such a watch will be able to recharge its battery from the sun. Placing solar cells on either side of the watch case allows for ample amount of sunlight to be collected, no matter how the watch is worn.

The Korean manufacturer describes the use of various types of solar cells that can provide relatively high efficiency.

As noted by LetsGoDigital, such a watch may come out under the name Galaxy Watch 5 or Galaxy Watch Solar, but no specifics are yet known. Brands like Garmin and Casio have already shown that such solutions are possible. This allows us to hope for a relatively early release of such Samsung watches.
