China’s SZ DJI Technology Co, the world’s largest small drone manufacturer, is joining a team of experts to develop self-driving technology. This is reported by Reuters with reference to people familiar with the company’s strategy.

Job announcements posted on the DJI website are proof of their words. The company is looking for automotive electronics, autonomous driving and automotive software engineers.

Whistleblowers say DJI plans to sell driver assistance technology and lidar sensors, a key component of self-driving cars, as well as complete self-driving solutions. Since this is unofficial information, the sources chose to remain anonymous. They clarified that DJI has been developing lidar technology and cameras for years.
