Development of the second part of the Final Fantasy VII remake is going well, the game may be announced very soon

According to Yoshinori Kitase, producer of the Final Fantasy VII remake, development of the sequel is going very well. In an interview with Japanese edition Famitsu, he asked fans to be patient and promised to share new information about the project in the very near future. Additionally, Mr. Kitase claims that the original Final Fantasy VII Remake is just the beginning of a new saga and an updated FFVII world.
Yoshinori Kitase also has a comment in the Famitsu special 110 creator aspirations for 2021 interview.
He mentions "the new world of FF7 has only just begun" and they are progressing smoothly with development. He says to wait a bit longer for new info.

Experts suggest that the official announcement of Final Fantasy VII Remake Part II will take place in 2021. The game will most likely be a PlayStation 5 exclusive. It’s hard to say if it’s temporary or permanent. Recall that Final Fantasy VII Remake was released in the spring of 2020 for the PlayStation 4.
