The developers of the multiplayer shooter Overwatch 2 from Blizzard Entertainment reported that 25 million players have tried this project in 10 days since the launch.
As a thank you, the developers have prepared gifts for the players. Anyone who logs in between October 25 and the end of Season 1 will receive the new Cursed Captain Reaper Legendary skin and the Health Pack weapon trinket for free. In addition, a double experience weekend is scheduled between October 21st and November 28th.
Earlier, on the official Overwatch 2 forum, user complaints began to appear about a new bug that led to a computer breakdown. According to users, they encountered an error due to which the computer starts to spontaneously restart or turn off with a “blue screen of death”. In addition, users report that the processor heats up to critical values. Errors occur both during gameplay and while in the lobby.
Blizzard has begun to investigate the problem, but the reasons for this behavior of computers and the release date of the patch with the fix are still unknown.
Overwatch 2 was released on October 4th. The game was heavily criticized, and fans lowered the project’s rating on the Metacritic aggregator to 1.3 points out of 10 possible. Now it has risen to 1.6//10.

Former president of Neuralink launched a startup to develop a brain-computer interface without implants
A startup Hodak Science has been launched in the United States, where they are developing a brain-computer interface. At the same time, the Hodak Science version does not require implants. Its creator is the former president of Neuralink, Max Hodak.
For work, it is proposed to use not electronics, but photonics; for manipulations with the brain, it is proposed to use light. The startup has already received funding of $160 million. At the moment, the company has already developed the Science Eye prosthesis, which is being tested on rabbits, and will move to human trials in the coming years. It should help with the treatment of certain diseases of the central and peripheral vision.
Hodak Science also wants to create an operating system that will output data directly to the retina, which will allow you to show hints, instructions, and so on. So far, it has not been reported when it is worth waiting for ready-made solutions, but the operation itself has already been worked out. True, this requires stimulating the cells of the optic nerve, for this they are injected with an artificial protein.
At the same time, Hodak remains a shareholder of Neuralink, as well as a holder of securities in a competing startup, Synchron. These companies are developing implantable chips.
