Details of the new Spider-Man for PlayStation: less storyline and two modes

The well-known American edition Game Informer has published exclusive materials on the game Spider-Man: Miles Morales, telling about the key features of the plot, mechanics and modes of operation of the project. Moreover, along with this publication, a new gameplay video was published on the network in which Miles Morales and Peter Parker suddenly stumble upon a villain named Rhino. Together the heroes will defeat him, but the key role in the duel, of course, was assigned to the young superhero. It is worth noting that in the first part of the series, Spider-Man has already met with the Rhino, who was successfully defeated.

The developers from Insomniac Games themselves consider Spider-Man: Miles Morales to be a direct continuation of the storyline of the first part – in the course of the story, the player will meet many familiar characters of this universe, although, of course, there will be new faces. You will also be able to meet familiar enemies, but they, as it seemed, will be much less than in the first part. Moreover, the storyline itself will be slightly shorter than the one that the player saw in the original story. Most likely, the plot will then be supplemented with the help of DLC, as was the case with Marvel’s Spider-Man, but so far there is no information about this.

Also, media representatives reported that the Spider-Man: Miles Morales storyline unfolds a year after the completion of the original story. During this year, apparently, Peter Parker trained Miles the basics, and now he acts as a mentor – the hero will take part in all the key events of the plot. And, most interestingly, the developers emphasize that Morales is only training to be Spider-Man, so his movements are less graceful, he moves on the web differently and fights a little differently than Parker. All this is done in order to show that his path is just beginning.

Separately, journalists talked about the game modes on different generations of the console. On the PlayStation 5, the player will have two modes to choose from – dynamic resolution up to 4K at 60 frames per second without using ray tracing and dynamic resolution up to 4K at 60 frames with ray tracing and enhanced picture. Unfortunately, “dynamic resolution up to 4K” in this case can mean almost anything, the exact parameters of the picture are not indicated. On the PlayStation 4, the game will run at 1080p at 30 frames per second, while the PlayStation 4 Pro is doing a little better – 4K at 30 FPS. And the developers promise a lot of new suits (even with LED-backlit ones).

Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be released on November 12 on PS4 and PS5.
