Cyclops camera, ray tracing and real fan: the flagship Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra in detail
Samsung is still preparing for a big summer snack of new products: including foldable smartphones Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. Meanwhile, the network has already begun to accumulate information about the Korean flagship of 2022 – the Samsung Galaxy S22.
The Dutch resource LetsGoDigital, known for numerous reliable leaks on mobile topics, has published details about the most expensive model in a series of future flagships – Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Along with details on features and prices, LetsGoDigital has published a selection of renders and even a presentation video, created in conjunction with Technizo Concept. It is noted that the images are not official and were created for demonstration purposes.
The smartphone will not receive significant changes to the screen and bezel – we expect a 6.81-inch screen with the same QHD + resolution. Rumors regarding the front camera hidden under the screen remain unconfirmed. Most likely, the technology will be implemented only in the Galaxy S23 Ultra in 2023.
That said, the Ultra will be the only device in the 2022 S-series lineup to feature an LTPO display with an adaptive refresh rate, just like the Galaxy S21 Ultra. Another thing that sets the Ultra apart from its two younger siblings is the screen that is rounded at the edges. In addition, only the Ultra model will be able to boast a glass back, while the rest of the models in the series will receive a plastic case.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra will be compatible with the S Pen, which will be offered as an optional accessory.
One of the likely features of the Galaxy S22 Ultra is an active cooling system with a real fan. Samsung has already registered a special trademark for it, referring to both smartphones and tablets.
The biggest visual change is expected on the back with the main camera block. The main camera of the new flagship Samsung was created in collaboration with the Japanese Olympus. Continuous optical zoom is expected, which will allow selection of intermediate values without loss of quality, unlike, for example, the S21 Ultra with its two telephoto lenses with fixed 3x and 10x optical zoom.
Another expected feature is sensor-shift image stabilization. The design of the Galaxy S22 Ultra camera resembles the flagships Xiaomi and Redmi – with a huge main module. The exact parameters of the sensors and optics are still unknown.
The hardware base should be a single-chip Exynos 2200 system with an AMD RDNA2 graphics processor, which for the first time will allow for the first time ray tracing and shading (shading) with variable speed in a smartphone. The US and China versions will receive the Qualcomm Snapdragon 895. Up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of flash are expected.
The software will be based on the Android 12 operating system with a proprietary One UI 4.0 shell. The battery will remain about the same as the Galaxy S21 Ultra – 5000 mAh capacity. In terms of prices, they are expected to be the same as the Galaxy S21 Ultra, or 50 euros more – from 1250 euros to 1300 euros for the cheapest variation.
LetsGoDigital has been known for its high quality renders based on patents from various companies and leaks for many years. The source’s arsenal includes accurate renders of the Samsung Galaxy Note21 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G and Galaxy S20 Ultra long before the announcement, and much more.

165 Hz, 18 GB of RAM, a huge screen, a huge battery and an unusual design. Asus ROG Phone 6 images revealed

The gaming smartphone Asus ROG Phone 6 will be presented on July 5, but today multiple images of the device have appeared on the Web.
As you can see, the design will still be very unusual with many different elements and accents, but this is normal for a gaming smartphone. The camera module will change somewhat, although in general Asus is clearly not trying to make the new model radically different from the previous one.
The renders also show a new version of the proprietary AeroActive Cooler 6, which can also act as a stand, as well as a Devilcase Guardian Lite Plus case.
The smartphone is credited with SoC Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, a 165-Hz AMOLED display with a diagonal of 6.78 inches, 18 GB of RAM and a 5850 mAh battery with 65-watt charging.

Should HTC have gone back to making smartphones? HTC Desire 22 Pro unveiled for $405 and not the most impressive specs

HTC has been intriguing over the past few weeks with a flagship smartphone with a focus on virtual and augmented reality technologies, but in fact it turned out to be the $405 HTC Desire 22 Pro, built on the Snapdragon 695. It’s certainly not a flagship, but the price is considerable.
HTC Desire 22 Pro received a screen with a diagonal of 6.6 inches, Full HD + resolution and a frame rate of 120 Hz, as well as a triple main camera with sensors with a resolution of 64, 13 and 5 MP. Judging by the picture, there is no periscope module, which means that the “optical zoom” will be achieved due to the difference in focal lengths of different lenses.
In the configuration of the device, there is also protection in accordance with the degree of IP67 (and this is really not often found in mid-range models), a 4520 mAh battery (both wireless and reverse wireless charging are supported), pre-installed Android 12. The configuration is one – with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory.
