Cyberpunk 2077 Will Support Ray Tracing On AMD Radeon RX 6000 Graphics Cards

This year’s most anticipated project, Cyberpunk 2077, recently pushed back to December 10, will support ray tracing when used with Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards.
A recent interview with Wccfetch, Nvidia’s head of public relations Brian Burke, shed light on AMD graphics card support for ray tracing in Cyberpunk 2077. Brian has confirmed that the game uses the industry standard DirectX Raytracing API. This means that ray tracing in Cyberpunk 2077 will be supported on any compatible GPU, including the Radeon RX 6800, Radeon 6800 XT, and Radeon 6900 XT.
However, given that Nvidia has been developing the RTX direction for a long time, it is clear that the company’s graphics cards may have some advantage over AMD’s new lineup. In particular, thanks to the DLSS 2.0 supersampling technology.
But AMD has a response to DLSS 2.0 with a similar technology called Super Resolution, which will be part of the open source FidelityFX redistributable package. In addition, FidelityFX will have a few more innovations like Variable Shading, Ambient Occlusion and others. The question remains, when will AMD implement Super Resolution, and will it be in time for Cyberpunk 2077?
We look forward to the release of the game itself, as well as comparing Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 and AMD Radeon RX 6000 in real gameplay with ray tracing enabled.
