Almost everything is already known about the upcoming Google Pixel 5 smartphone. However, today there are new details about the material of the device body. Previously, it was assumed that the gadget will be made of glass, but today’s leak reports that the smartphone is still made of aluminum.
WinFuture’s Roland Quandt pointed out a week ago that the Pixel 5’s body is made from recycled aluminum. Some netizens have speculated that this only applies to the frame of the smartphone, which will be structurally similar to the Pixel 3 and Pixel 4. However, today Quandt said that the entire back of the device will be made of aluminum. This makes sense given that none of the Pixel 5’s leaked images show the seam between the bezel and the back. Apparently, the body is solid, like the plastic Pixel 4a. If so, it’s unclear how wireless charging will work. As you know, it does not work through metal.
Among other things, Quandt revealed the names of the colors of the smartphone. The green one will be called Sorta Sage. Black is likely to inherit the name Just Black from its predecessors.
In terms of technical specifications, the Pixel 5 will not be a flagship in the usual sense. The device will be based on the mid-range Snapdragon 765G platform like the OnePlus Nord, Nokia 8.3 and other mid-range ones introduced this year. The main camera Pixel 5 will receive two sensors: 12.2 and 16 megapixels. Nevertheless, given the photo capabilities of previous models, there is no reason to doubt the quality of the sensors. According to reports, the amount of RAM of the device will be 8 GB, and the capacity of the built-in storage will be equal to 128 GB. On the back of the smartphone, in addition to the camera, users will find a fingerprint sensor.
Pixel 5 will boast a battery equal to 4080 mAh. Support for fast 18W charging is expected. It is assumed that the price of the device will be € 629. The Google Pixel 5 and 4a 5G smartphones will be unveiled by the search giant tomorrow.
