Sony’s newest flagship smartphone, the Xperia 5 II, was not expected to hit store shelves earlier than October 20. However, the latest information from Taiwan pleases with closer release dates and start of deliveries.
In Taiwan, the smartphone will start shipping on October 12, at least in some online stores. Major operators in the region plan to start shipping on 15 October. And from October 1, it will be possible to test the new product in Sony branded retail stores, but not buy it. Gifts for first-time buyers include Sony WF-XB700 headphones, Sony SRS-XB12 portable speaker, case with stand, protective glass and a year of warranty against accidental screen damage.
For comparison, in Russia, you can already pre-order the Sony Xperia 5 II at a suggested retail price of 69,990 rubles for the version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory. Those who pre-order are entitled to a gift – free Sony WF-XB700 headphones, which separately cost 9,990 rubles. Pre-orders are accepted until October 18.
As noted by Sony, the Xperia 5 II is currently the smallest smartphone in the Xperia lineup. The dimensions are 158 x 68 x 8 mm, and the weight is 163 g. The smartphone has a 6.1-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels with an image refresh rate of 120 Hz, a triple main camera with 12 megapixel sensors, an 8 megapixel front camera , SoC Snapdragon 865, 4000 mAh battery. The smartphone is protected from water and dust (IP65 / 68).
