The meeting lasted two hours, was broadcast on YouTube and was devoted to the case brought by the regional transport union against the police.

The participants appeared as avatars in the virtual courtroom, with Judge Maria Quinones Triana wearing a black court robe. According to the judge, the case will be partially considered in the virtual world, possibly including sentencing. She confirmed the constitutional legitimacy of the virtual court, while acknowledging that 70% of viewers rated the experiment negatively.

Colombia was noted to be one of the first countries in the world to try out metaverse litigation, with Quinones saying it was more “real than a video call”.

Juan David Gutierrez, professor of public policy at Columbia University, thinks the use of the metaverse in litigation has a long way to go. In an interview with Reuters, he noted that this requires equipment that not everyone has, which “makes you think about access to justice and equality.”

Judge Triana agreed on the need to discuss issues of cost and availability. However, she has spoken out in favor of the metaverse, such as in cases of abuse cases where participants can work in the same space without the need for a physical presence.

Gutierrez said Colombia is looking for ways to ease the country’s overburdened justice system.

“The courts create the illusion that technology will make everything more efficient, but sometimes the opposite is true,” he added.

Does the Nokia brand justify this price? Nokia C12 Plus unveiled with very old platform, 2GB RAM and $100 price tag

If the C12 Pro only had a larger battery compared to the C12, then the C12 Plus is the C12 Pro, but with a different memory configuration: only 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of flash memory. That being said, the C12 Plus has a microSD slot that the C12 Pro doesn’t have. Why so many very similar models in one segment is unclear.

In any case, all other parameters have not changed, that is, the smartphone received a 6.3-inch HD + screen, a very weak and old 28-nanometer Unisoc 9863A1 SoC and a main camera with a resolution of only 8 megapixels. In India, they charge $100 for a novelty.
