China will build its own “hyperloop” with speeds up to 1000 km/h
The China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC) has conducted the first successful launches of a Hyperloop-like transport system using a full-size passenger capsule. The Elon Musk Hyperloop project – a system of vacuum tunnels in which high-speed trains move – has not yet been fully implemented. In China, they decided to create their own transport network of this type, which, in the future, will allow the transport of passengers and goods at a speed of about 1000 km/h. Thus, it would become the fastest land transport system in the world.
CASIC has built a test facility in Datong City (Shanxi Province), now it includes a 2 km long pipe and all the necessary equipment: an electrical power system, superconducting magnets, security systems, etc. The passenger capsule on a magnetic cushion during several test launches was able to develop a speed of up to 50 km / h and cover a distance of 210 meters. In the next few years, the length of this line should increase to 60 km, and the speed achieved by the capsule – up to 1000 km/h.
