China continues to actively build charging stations for electric vehicles. The largest market for such cars, of course, needs a lot of charges. And the Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance data allows us to understand how many charging stations are now in China.

China installed 87,000 electric vehicle charging stations in just a month. In total, there are almost one and a half million of them in the country.

There are already more than 1.4 million of them in the country. More precisely, 1.419 million stations. At the same time, 87,000 stations were installed in May alone, which is one of the most significant increases in recent times. In comparison, a year earlier, China had about 900,000 stations, with a year-over-year growth of over 60%.

In May, total electricity consumption for charging electric vehicles in China amounted to 1.56 billion kWh per month, up 83.1% from a year earlier. In monthly terms, the growth was 10%.

There are currently 15 leading charging station companies in China. At the same time, the two largest – Xingxing Charge and Special Call – account for more than 500,000 stations, that is, more than a third of all charges in the country.
