The technology, which will find application on Earth for charging electric vehicles, was invented by a research team led by Professor Issam Mudawar. The scientists were sponsored by NASA’s Biological and Physical Sciences Division.
According to experts, thanks to the new method, a current of 2400 amperes is transmitted through the cable. Modern chargers found on the streets of cities around the world give out about 340 amperes.
It took more than ten years to develop the technology. Initially, this method was created to cool equipment in space. While the invention of scientists is not ready for implementation, and the exact time to market depends on the support from government agencies and industrial partners willing to invest in development. The researchers said they are working with many automotive component manufacturers to further improve and implement the technology.
All-New 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Gets an Interior Inspired by Grandeur’s Flagship Sedan
Spy photos (or screenshots of a video – it’s hard to say for sure) of the interior of a brand new Hyundai Santa Fe have been published on the Web. This model will be released next year and its angular forms will resemble the Land Rover Discovery. However, the similarity with the “Disco” is not only outside, but also inside, just look at the steering wheel of the promising Santa Fe.
As for the cabin itself, the front panel and the driver’s seat, everything is very similar to what can be seen in the latest Grandeur flagship sedan, which is barely inferior to Genesis sub-brand cars in terms of comfort and equipment.
As you can see, the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe will get two screens under a single glass – one as part of the digital dashboard, the other as part of the infotainment system. The display sizes are unknown, but they will likely match those of the Grandeur. The center console is also made in the Grandeur style. The two-tone design of the interior is also noteworthy.
There is no data on the technology of the new Hyundai Santa Fe. The current generation machine is equipped with various engines: a 2.5-liter four-cylinder (191 hp conventional or 281 hp turbocharged), as well as a 1.6-liter turbocharged hybrid power plant (the power of a conventional hybrid is 226 hp, plug-in – 261 hp).

American car classifier iSeeCars analyzed more than two million cars for sale in the US in order to choose the most reliable ones. Toyota was among the leaders: this brand owns 10 models from the top 20.
The most reliable cars were selected by mileage. At least 2.5% of the cars of each model from this list have traveled 320,000 km, and those that are at the top of the list (usually 1% of such cars were recruited) are able to overcome from 370,00 to 478,000 km. For example, 1% of Toyota Sequoia has at least 477,000 km on the odometer.
“What we see is a list of highly reliable vehicles capable of over a quarter of a million miles. [400 000 км] with proper maintenance”, said iSeeCars analyst Karl Brauer. “And to be clear, this study is not talking about the maximum lifespan of these vehicles. It simply displays the current odometer reading. Most of these vehicles are still in use.”, he added.

As you can see, the list mainly includes large SUVs and pickups, which is not surprising: manufacturers put a large margin of safety into these cars, this applies to both the body and engines and suspension. The list of the most reliable cars also includes two Toyota sedans (Avalon and Camry), one hatchback (Toyota Prius) and two minivans (Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey).

The former chief designer of the Lenin Komsomol automobile plant, Igor Zaitsev, worked at the enterprise from 1974 to 1987, when the Moskvich-2140 and Moskvich-2141 models were produced. If you look from the side, you will see two oblique stampings on the doors. One of them, from my point of view, is superfluous, it should be removed. There is another solution to this shortcoming – the top line must somehow be connected to the bottom, in other words, visually be closed. You can still slightly change the shape of the bumper.
He suggested that the plant is unlikely to be engaged in the modernization of this model, because it is a matter of big money and free time. After all, it is not enough just to draw a picture, you need to change stamps, adjust equipment, use other technologies.
The current car “Moskvich” has nothing in common with the models of past years. There is no continuity, no connection with those machines that were produced before. Moreover, earlier in the model range there was no crossover.
