CD Projekt Red Tells When To Expect New Cyberpunk 2077 Updates
By now, it is clear that Cyberpunk 2077 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles is full of bugs. The developers tried to fix them by releasing the first update in the history of the game, but the result is poor. Today it became known about a new update.
This was announced by the developers from CD Projekt Red. They began their entry with an apology.
“First of all, we would like to start by apologizing to you for not showing the game on consoles prior to its release, and as a result, did not allow you to make a more informed decision to purchase it,” reads the published tweet.
After that, CD Projekt Red said that the new update will be available in seven days. The developers also said that they will often release updates as they become available.

Valve Specialist Explains Why You Shouldn’t Install Too Long SSDs in Steam Deck

A few days ago, information appeared on the network that it was possible to install a longer SSD in the Steam Deck than planned. However, such interference may adversely affect the life of the console.
By default, the Steam Deck uses a 30mm SSD, however, players were able to install a 42mm long model with more memory. To do this, I had to move the fixing screw on the motherboard and remove the thermal pad.
According to Valve designer Lawrence Young, who participated in the development of the console, this should not be done. The fact is that larger drives consume more energy and heat up more. And ditching the thermal pad makes things even worse as the console starts to overheat.
“Please, do not do that. The charger chip becomes very hot, so do not move nearby thermal pads. In addition, most M.2 2242 drives use more power and run hotter than the ones the Steam Deck is designed to handle. It may seem that this modification works, but it will significantly reduce the life of your portable PC.‘, Young said.
Note that the console officially supports three SSD options – 64 GB, 256 GB and a faster 512 GB.
Previously, it was reported how you can significantly increase the autonomy of the Steam Deck console.

Fan Adds AMD FSR 2.0 ‘Magic Technology’ to Cyberpunk 2077 and Doubles Frame Rates in 4K

A game modification developer under the pseudonym PotatoOfDoom has unveiled a new modification for Cyberpunk 2077. It adds AMD FSR 2.0 “magic technology” to the game, replacing existing anti-aliasing technologies – Nvidia DLSS and the first version of FSR. The author himself notes that the result was impressive.
According to him, when running the game on a system with a GTX 1080 graphics card in 4K resolution, the frame rate rose to 45 FPS, which is twice as much as it was originally. Other users confirm the increase in frame rate. On a GTX 970 at 1080p and maxed out, Cyberpunk runs at 30 FPS. On the 5700XT, with average shadow quality, the figure increased from 50 to 86 FPS.
The author noted that the modification was originally calculated only for the Steam version of Cyberpunk 2077, but it seems that a recent update made it work with the GOG version as well.
AMD FSR 2.0 technology is not yet officially supported in the game, but its appearance will allow the use of older Nvidia video cards older than the 10th series. The developers have not yet announced plans to add a new anti-aliasing system to the game.
Earlier it was reported that AMD FSR 2.0 was added to Unreal Engine 4 and 5 as a plug-in.

Experts from Open AI taught the neural network to play Minecraft exclusively from videos

Researchers at Open AI have taught artificial intelligence how to play Minecraft using only walkthrough videos. The training method was based on preliminary video training (Video PreTraining, VPT), which made it possible to use a large amount of unlabeled data for this. To control AI, I used mouse and keyboard emulators.
At the first stage, the neural networks showed 2,000 hours of marked-up video with Minecraft gameplay. Here, the researchers demonstrated which buttons users pressed during the game. This allowed the system to learn to guess which buttons are pressed. At the second stage, the neural network has already viewed 70 thousand hours of unlabeled video (without data on the buttons being pressed). All entries were taken from open sources.
As a result, the neural network was able to learn not only to walk in the game world, but also to extract resources and create objects from them, run, swim, avoid obstacles, hunt animals and get food. AI has also learned to jump up and put blocks under the character to climb higher.
In the third stage, the researchers asked the users who took part in the project to help them. Players have created a new world in Minecraft, collected the necessary resources to start and crafted the essentials. All this was recorded on video, which was then shown by neural networks. Some have even built basic shelters, and the neural network has mastered this skill. The researchers used reinforcement learning, which allowed the AI to eventually create a diamond pickaxe.
Scientists believe that the method of preliminary video training will allow you to quickly train neural networks for the necessary tasks, and will also allow you to train artificial intelligence to use the mouse and keyboard. The source codes of the project have already been published.
Previously, it was reported that Minecraft was completely completed in less than 2 minutes.
