CarDroid – Finger-Sized Mini Car PC

Published

CarDroid, a tiny car PC that lives inside a USB stick.

To date, the Google Android Auto app has been downloaded over one billion times and it is estimated that over 100 million vehicles worldwide have integrated the platform. However, it is not to everyone’s taste and still suffers from some problems.

This is where CarDroid comes in. It is slightly larger than the index finger and features an 8-core processor, Android 9.0, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, microSD card slot, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS antenna, built-in microphone and 802.11ac Wi-Fi.

The tiny size is due to the fact that it doesn’t need an HDMI port, a power connector, or any USB ports.

The cheapest model is the quad-core version with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, for $ 64. The top model has a retail price of $ 99.

CarDroid lets you run the full Android OS on your car screen, opening up a whole world of possibilities. CarDroid lets you run YouTube, Netflix, TikTok, and just about any other app available on Google Play.

However, this overshadows the security measures deployed by Google Auto, which remove all video capabilities from the platform so that the driver is not distracted.

At the time of writing, CarDroid has collected 9,530,776 rubles, which is 23859% of the developer’s goal. And there are still 14 days left until the end. More information can be found on the project page.
