Building on the theme of using Canon DSLRs and mirrorless cameras as webcams, pioneered by Canon’s EOS Webcam Utility software, Canon has prepared matching accessory kits.

Kits for use with Canon Webcam Utility software include a set of adapters and cables. The manufacturer offers three options: for EOS RP mirrorless cameras; for digital SLR cameras EOS Rebel T3, T5, T6 and T7; for EOS M50, M50 Mark II and M200 mirrorless cameras. While the lists of what’s included in the kits vary slightly, each component has a USB cable to connect the camera to a computer, and a power adapter and battery simulator that supplies power from the AC adapter to the camera.

The Canon EOS RP kit costs $ 159, the other two kits cost $ 89 each.

Nintendo Switch OLED scratches, burns and tries to break. The console has been tested by blogger JerryRigEverything

Published

Well-known blogger JerryRigEverything got to the new Nintendo Switch OLED game console to test its strength.

The console screen is covered with a plastic sheet, so it is very easy to scratch. For owners of all versions of Switch, this is nothing new. The heating test is still as useless as it always has been, but it can be noted that a trace of the flame remains.

At the same time, the strength of the console is quite high. Despite the size and the presence of the attached parts, as you can see, the application of serious efforts does not lead to any damage. However, you shouldn’t repeat this with your own prefix, of course.

Olympus was attacked by ransomware for the second time in two months

The company was attacked by Macaw ransomware developed by Evil Corp.

Japanese tech giant Olympus fell victim to ransomware for the second time in two months. This time, the attack was carried out by the cybercriminal group Evil Corp, against which the US government has imposed sanctions.

The attack on Olympus using a new variant of malware called Macaw began on October 10, 2021. The malware encrypted company systems in the United States, Canada and South America.

Macaw is a variant of WastedLocker ransomware, and both are developed by the cybercriminal group Evil Corp.

This is the second ransomware attack on Olympus in the past two months. The first incident took place in September, when the company’s networks in Europe, the Middle East and Africa were encrypted with BlackMatter ransomware (BlackMatter and Evil Corp. are not related).

“Olympus was attacked by BlackMatter last month and a week or so by the Macaw,” Allan Liska, an analyst at information security firm Recorded Future, told TechCrunch.

According to Liska, the ransomware Macaw left a ransom note on the compromised computers with a data theft statement.

According to the official press release Olympus, the company is investigating “possible data breaches” – a known technique of the so-called “double extortion” in which ransomware steals data from their victims and threatens to publish it if the ransom is not paid.

The company does not provide details about the incident, citing an ongoing investigation.

The Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition trilogy, announced earlier this month, has received a release date.

The game will be released digitally on all major platforms except mobile on November 11th. As a reminder, it will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Rockstar Games Launcher on PC. For Android and iOS, games will be released next year. As for the disc version, it will be released on December 7th. In addition, on the same day, the project will appear on the PlayStation Now platform.

Rockstar also published the first trailer for the updated trilogy, where, among other things, the difference in the level of graphics is clearly visible. The angular old models have not gone anywhere, but now they are much more detailed, and the effects of reflections look very modern at all. By the way, the game will support Nvidia DLSS, although it’s not very clear whether it needs this technology with very modest system requirements.
