Can such an AMD graphics card still catch up with the GeForce RTX 4090? Radeon RX 7900 is now technically ready to add 3D V-Cache memory
AMD has already released two generations of processors with 3D V-Cache technology and it looks like they may release the same video cards in the near future. It turned out that the Radeon RX 7900 3D cards already on the market seem to be technically ready to use the additional 3D V-Cache.
This was discovered thanks to the disassembly of the younger model RX 7900 XT. It lacks two memory chips, but of course there are contact pads on the printed circuit board where these chips are placed when the RX 7900 XTX is created on the basis of the same board.
Semiconductor packaging engineer Tom Wassick found that these memory chip locations contain a linear array of “spots” that are very similar to the corresponding elements in Ryzen X3D processors and have the same pitch of 17-18 microns.
Of course, this does not mean that AMD will actually release a conditional Radeon RX 7900X3D XTX, or whatever it is called, but there are chances for this. Various tests have long proven that additional cache memory in both processors and video cards has a very positive effect on gaming performance. But at the same time, using the Ryzen 7 5800X3D as an example, we know that you will have to overpay for such a technical solution.

JetStream are back. Palit GeForce RTX 4080 and 4070 Ti JetStream graphics cards unveiled – and they have one notable difference from the competition

Palit returns to the production of JetStream video cards. More than two years after the release of the GeForce RTX 3070 JetStream, the company introduced the GeForce RTX 4080 and 4070 Ti JetStream. These models differ from analogues in the absence of RGB backlighting.
At one time, manufacturers of various hardware were so carried away by the introduction of backlighting into everything that is possible that now its absence is already perceived as a “trick”. On the other hand, the frequencies here are completely standard, and from this point of view, the lack of backlight is more of a savings factor.
Video cards look almost the same – and rather modestly. However, they are long – 329 mm (after all, there are three fans) and rather thick (they take up 3.1 slots). It is possible that dual-fan models will also appear in the JetStream series, but already based on the GeForce RTX 4070 or GeForce RTX 4060. The cost of new products has not yet been announced.

MSI CreatorPro X17 HX powerful mobile workstation introduced. With Core i9-13980HX, GeForce RTX 3500 Ada Laptop and Mini-LED 4K display

After Nvidia officially announced new mobile 3D workstation accelerators based on Ada Lovelace architecture yesterday, MSI today unveiled its flagship CreatorPro X17 HX workstation with such graphics. More specifically, the laptop uses a dGPU GeForce RTX 3500 Ada Laptop with 12 GB of GDDR6 memory.
Display – Mini-LED with a diagonal of 17.3 inches, a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and a frame rate of 144 Hz. The display meets the requirements of the DisplayHDR 1000 standard and provides coverage of 100% of the DCI-P3 color space.
There are four slots for installing RAM, with a maximum of 128 GB of RAM. There are also two M.2 SSD slots, one of which supports PCIe 5.0.
Laptop configuration includes IR webcam, SteelSeries customizable RGB keyboard, fingerprint scanner, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, four Dynaudio system speakers, two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 , three USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A, one each Mini DisplayPort and HDMI 2.1.
The battery capacity is 100 Wh. Notebook dimensions – 397 x 330 x 23 mm, weight – 3.3 kg.

Nvidia says its Grace CPU Superchip is twice as fast as x86-compatible processors for the same power consumption

Nvidia said that its Arm-based Grace CPU Superchip processor in tests with real workloads shows a twofold increase in performance compared to x86-compatible CPUs in the same range of power consumption. With which processors Nvidia compared, it is not specified.
The company says these figures mean data centers can handle twice as much peak traffic for the same power consumption if they switch to Grace. Or they can cut their energy bills by almost half while maintaining productivity.
Nvidia itself says that Grace provides such results thanks to three main factors. Firstly, these are 72 Arm Neoverse V2 cores in one CPU (Grace CPU Superchip, we recall, contains two CPUs on one board), and secondly, in fact, the combination of two such CPUs via the NVLink-C2C interface with a bandwidth of 900 GB / s , third, the use of server-class LPDDR5X memory.
