Camello robots start delivering groceries in Singapore

Published

on

Given the high demand for home delivery service amid the pandemic, Singapore-based OTSAW Digital has developed Camello robots that solve this problem. The robots are currently undergoing testing for one year. They serve 700 households.

Users can reserve seats in the delivery robot, and the application notifies them when the robot approaches the delivery point – this is usually the lobby of an apartment building.

The robot, equipped with 3D sensors and a camera, has two compartments, in each of which it can carry up to 20 kg of food or parcels ordered over the Internet. On a weekday, the robot manages to complete four or five deliveries. On Saturday, it is available on call for half a day. UV disinfection is performed after each ride.

To ensure that there are no problems while testing is in progress, the robots are escorted by OTSAW Digital staff.
