Bypassing sanctions: Huawei P50 Pro can now use 5G networks. Unique dual-core case now available in China
In mid-May, a unique case for the Huawei P50 Pro smartphone was introduced and is available for pre-order in China for $118. Sales will start on June 17th.
This is the world’s first smartphone case that adds support for modern fifth-generation networks to the 4G model. The device description says that the Huawei P50 Pro supports Unicom’s 5G gigabit network. Customers who activate the Unicom eSIM can receive a discount on the eSIM service fee.
This 5G case is designed and manufactured by Digital Source Technology. It weighs about 52g and is about 3.2mm thick. It has a light gray color and is made of a material that is pleasant to the touch and does not leave fingerprints.
After installing the smartphone in the case, users will receive a pop-up window that informs them that they can use 5G using the built-in China Unicom eSIM SIM card. The source writes that the network signal of the main card of the mobile phone and the signal of the “5G communication shell” will be displayed separately on the signal panel of the mobile phone.
Shuyuan Technology’s official website states that the case has a built-in 1.35GHz dual-core processor. It supports the networks of three major Chinese carriers, SA/NSA dual-band 5G bands, and has a USB connector that supports ultra-fast charging.
Cases for Mate 40, Nova9, Mate 50 and Nova10 will be released later.

Nothing Phone (1) will receive a FullHD + OLED screen with support for a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It will be built on the basis of a Snapdragon 778G + single-chip system. The main camera will be equipped with image sensors with a resolution of 50 and 16 megapixels, the front camera will be 16 megapixels. The battery capacity will be 4500 mAh, it will support 45-watt charging.
The smartphone will run on the Android 12 operating system with the Nothing OS shell and proprietary Glyph Interface installed.
