Apple has launched a project to develop a 20.25-inch foldable mobile device. Probably, we are talking about a folding MacBook.

Interestingly, the project allegedly does not have a specific plan for commercialization, and Apple took up development in order to keep up with the market. At the same time, there is a forecast according to which a similar product can enter the market in 2027.

When unfolded, the screen diagonal, as already mentioned, will be 20.25 inches, and when folded it will be 15.3 inches. At the same time, to implement the Apple project, you need to use OLED screens. Resource The Elec says that to begin with, the company should transfer the rest of the MacBook and iPad to such panels, although it is not very clear why different products cannot have different types of panels. However, we have heard more than once about the company’s plans to release iPad Pro with OLED screens. As for the MacBook, the source says that Apple plans to release such models with OLED screens in 2025.

Also recall that earlier on the Web there were rumors that Apple is working on a foldable tablet. It may come out before a foldable laptop.

Budget discrete graphics cards are no longer needed in laptops

Among the Ryzen 7000 mobile processors, there are models with the latest iGPU based on the RDNA 3 architecture. And today, the first tests of such a solution have appeared on the Web.

Budget discrete graphics cards are no longer needed in laptops? Radeon 780M iGPU Test Results Released

The integrated graphics core Radeon 780M as part of an unnamed APU in 3DMark Time Spy scores about 2750 points when used in conjunction with DDR5-5600 RAM and about 3000 points when using LPDDR5X-7500. And this is a lot.

Budget discrete graphics cards are no longer needed in laptops? Radeon 780M iGPU Test Results Released

By comparison, the Radeon 680M scores around 2390 points, meaning the new GPU is 15-26% faster depending on memory. In the second case, this is already close to the result of the discrete GeForce RTX 2050, not to mention slower and older adapters.

We’ll have to wait for the results in games, of course, but overall the data looks plausible as the Radeon 780M has the same 768 stream processors as the Radeon 680M, but the RDNA 2 architecture has changed to RDNA 3, and the GPU frequency has risen to incredible iGPU 2900 MHz.
