Built-in biometrics and lack of support for Windows 7: Google released Chrome 110 browser
Google released version 110 of the Chrome browser, which removed support for Windows 7 and 8.1 operating systems. Thus, this is the first version of the web browser that only supports Windows 10 and 11.
Older versions will still work on Windows 7 and 8.1, but they will receive more updates. In other words, they may have security problems.
Other innovations include the use of biometric authentication for autofill passwords. This only works if you have an authentication device, such as a fingerprint scanner. This build also fixes many security issues.
In addition, the new version has support for Nvidia RTX Video Super Resolution. This allows you to increase the resolution while playing in the browser. True, this only works with RTX 30 and RTX 40 graphics cards.
And web applications in a new browser open in a new window or an already open one – this is the choice of developers. This approach will allow you to run games separately so that they are not lost in a bunch of open tabs.
Note that after the release of this version of the browser, about 12% of all PCs may not be updated, because at the moment Windows 7 is installed on almost 10% of computers, and Windows 8.1 on 2.28% of PCs.

Google Chrome extensions no longer threaten your favorite sites: you can disable them with one click

Google has begun testing a useful innovation for its proprietary browser. In an early test build of Chrome, an option was made available to quickly disable all extensions without switching to incognito mode.
This is especially useful in cases where one of the extensions breaks the website or causes unwanted behavior on the website. Previously, in such cases, it was possible to open a tab in Incognito mode, instead of disabling each potentially problematic extension in sequence.
Now, with one click, you can activate the switch and disable all active extensions for this website at once. The new toggle is available to all Chrome Canary 113 users under the Extensions menu.
In its current implementation, the user would also have to manually refresh the page to load the site without extensions. However, in a future version, Chrome will offer to reload the page automatically.

Google Play Store launches app sync across devices

Google has begun rolling out a useful new option to the Google Play Store online app store for its Android platform. Although there was no loud announcement about this, some users began to notice innovations in the “App and device management” section, which allows you to start synchronization between devices.
The “Sync apps with devices” option allows you to automatically install new apps on multiple devices at once. When the setting is activated, the user will see a list of all Android devices where he uses his Google account.
So far, the feature works in a limited way and works only for recently installed applications. Simply put, it does not replace the standard Google backup and restore process. The sync feature also does not apply to app updates. But even with these limitations, this feature can be quite useful.
