Broadcom completes world’s first Wi-Fi 7 ecosystem solutions
Broadcom announced the availability of sample chipsets that form complete solutions for the Wi-Fi 7 ecosystem. They cover Wi-Fi routers, home gateways, corporate access points and client devices, more than twice the data transfer speed of Wi-Fi 6 solutions and 6E on the market today. The advantages of the new element base also include reliable communication with low latency and extended range.
Doubling the bandwidth in Wi-Fi 7 is provided by the introduction of channels with a width of 320 MHz. Combined with Automatic Frequency Coordination (AFC) technology, this gives Wi-Fi 7 the ability to optimize spectrum distribution for powerful access points and extend the reach of 6GHz equipment, both indoors and outdoors.
Broadcom’s product portfolio for the Wi-Fi 7 ecosystem includes the BCM67263, BCM6726, BCM43740, BCM43720, and BCM4398 chips. All of them support 4096-QAM modulation and multi-channel operation (MLO), and are fully compliant with the IEEE and WFA Wi-Fi 7 specifications.
The BCM67263 is optimized for home Wi-Fi hotspots. It supports 320MHz channels and four Wi-Fi 7 streams with one RF module operating in the 6GHz band. The physical speed reaches 11.5 Gbps. For home access points, the BCM6726 chip is also optimized. It features a radio module that supports the 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz bands. The channel width can be up to 160 MHz, and the physical speed reaches 5.75 Gbps, and
The BCM43740 and BCM43720 chips are optimized for enterprise Wi-Fi hotspots. The first supports four Wi-Fi 7 streams, the second two, the first supports 320 MHz channels, the second supports 160 MHz. The physical speed reaches 11.5 Gbps and 2.88 Gbps respectively. In both cases, the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz or 6 GHz bands are available.
Finally, the BCM4398 is a Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5 combo controller optimized for smartphones. It supports two Wi-Fi 7 streams, 320MHz wide channels. The physical speed reaches 6.05 Gbps. Declared compliance not only with IEEE and WFA Wi-Fi 7 standards, but also with the Bluetooth Denver standard.

Apple releases first update for MagSafe Duo charging station

Apple has released a software update for the MagSafe Duo charging station.
While Apple frequently releases firmware updates for most of its hardware, this is the first release since the MagSafe Duo officially debuted in 2020.
It’s not yet clear exactly what the firmware update does, as Apple hasn’t provided any release notes, but the latest firmware usually includes performance and security improvements, as well as increased compatibility with other devices.
The charging station will update automatically when it is in use and connected to the mains.
MagSafe Duo lets you charge your iPhone and Apple Watch at the same time and costs $129 in the US.

Get your tinfoil hats out: how much more Windows 11 “spy” compared to older Microsoft OS

Many have heard claims that Windows 11 is heavily “spying” on users. As a recent YouTube video on The PC Security Channel shows, Windows 11 does send massive amounts of data to its own and third-party servers.
Worst of all, the OS does this before the user even installs or opens their first app. The author of the channel used the Wireshark application to analyze network activity on two “clean” versions of Windows.
The first was the brand new Windows 11, and the second was the good old Windows XP. A quick analysis revealed that Windows 11 connects to many third-party servers and services, most of which do nothing but track for ads. And it’s worth noting that all of these actions take place on every Windows 11 computer out of the box, without prompting the user and before he tries to use the Internet.

Xiaomi 13 Lite with an “island”: European prices, options and release dates

Xiaomi is just getting ready for a big international presentation, where the flagship Xiaomi 13 Lite with a Leica camera will become the main highlight of the program. Meanwhile, information about another interesting model of the series appeared on the network – the Xiaomi 13 Lite smartphone.
Details and unofficial renderings were shared by network whistleblower billbil_kun, who previously celebrated predictions that came true in various areas, including the appearance of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and the Microsoft-Bethesda collaboration.
So, the Xiaomi 13 Lite smartphone should become the international version of the Chinese Xiaomi Civi 2. According to the source, the most affordable model in the Xiaomi series will debut on the international market at the same time as Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro at a presentation in Barcelona. At the same time, pre-orders will open only on March 8.
Presumably, the price of Xiaomi 13 Lite for Europe will be 549 euros for the version with 256 GB of flash memory. A 128 GB version is also expected, but the price is still unknown. It is also noted that there will be two color options, like Xiaomi 13 Pro.
