A Microsoft representative told the company’s blog a story that happened back in the days of the Windows XP operating system. An unnamed major manufacturer has discovered that some laptop models crash when playing Janet Jackson’s “Rhythm Nation” music video. The same was observed with laptops from other companies.

Moreover, the failure occurred not only on the laptop itself, where the song was played, but, sometimes, on neighboring devices in the laboratory. At the same time, the track did not start on them at the time of the failure.

As it turned out, the fault was the music, or rather some audio frequencies in the audio track. They resonated with laptop hard drives that ran at 5400 rpm.

Chen did not specify exactly which frequencies created such interference and which models were affected. But he told how the experts found a solution. The manufacturer added a filter that removed such frequencies if they were found in the audio recording.

And in the comments to the post, one of the users said that the first 9-inch netbooks of one brand faced a similar problem. In the model that was equipped with a hard drive, almost any loud music would resonate with the drive and could lead to data corruption or even drive failure. But here the problem was in the design of the case – the right speaker was located almost close to the disk.

At the same time, the manufacturer did not acknowledge the existence of a problem, but users found a solution – move the balance slider in the player all the way to the left so that the right speaker simply does not produce sound.

Hyper is finally bringing to market two unusual devices that were introduced almost a year ago.

We are talking about the HyperJuice 245 W GaN Desktop Charger and the HyperJuice 245 W USB-C Battery Pack. As the name suggests, both devices deliver 245W of power. For example, in the case of a battery, this power allows you to simultaneously charge four MacBook Pros that consume 61 watts each. The maximum power per USB port is 100W. The Battery Pack has a capacity of 27,000 mAh, which is enough to charge a MacBook Pro or MacBook Air up to two times or an iPhone 13 nine times.

The HyperJuice 245 W GaN Desktop Charger is identical in parameters to the battery, except without the battery. At the same time, using this charger, the same HyperJuice 245 W USB-C Battery Pack can be charged in just an hour.

Recall that the devices were introduced last fall as part of a campaign on Indieogogo. She then raised more than $ 1.2 million, and the devices were offered for $ 100 and $ 150. Now the charger is sold for $200, and the battery is already asking for $250.

A screenshot from the presentation of Acer, held in Indonesia, has been published on the Web. One of the slides features a Swift Edge laptop (part number SFA16-41). It aims to be the world’s lightest 16-inch laptop.

The declared mass of the device is only 1.1 kg. At the same time, the laptop received an OLED panel with a resolution of 4K and a frame rate of 90 Hz. There are no other details, but it can be assumed that the device uses 12 generation Intel processors.

At the moment, the lightest 16-inch laptop is LG Gram 16 – it is equipped with a screen with a resolution of 2.5K, and weighs 1.19 kg. Obviously, the new Acer will be more attractive, but so far it is not on sale and its cost is unknown.
