Bloomberg: Elon Musk plans to fire half of Twitter employees

According to them, about 3.7 thousand of the 7.5 thousand employees of Twitter will fall under the reduction. The company will also prohibit those employees who remain in the state from working remotely. Such measures, according to sources of the agency, are aimed at reducing costs. The agency notes that Twitter has not yet responded to a request for comment.

On October 27, Musk closed the deal to buy Twitter, which owns the social network of the same name. The new owner is expected to end the practice of permanently blocking users. The entrepreneur announced that he is creating a special council that will study the issue of Twitter moderation. He noted that “social media content moderation board will include representatives of various views,” and added that this includes human rights organizations and minorities who face “violence fueled by hatred.”

New Antutu record a new leader reigns in the ranking

The popular AnTuTu benchmark team has published its latest monthly rating of the most productive flagship smartphones based on the Android operating system.

New Antutu record: a new leader reigns in the ranking of the most productive Android smartphones

In November, there was a revolution in the ranking, which Antutu experts had been waiting for for several months. The latest smartphone Vivo X90 based on the new Dimensity 9200 platform scored almost 1.2 million points, overtaking all the flagships based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 that previously reigned in the ranking. Note that Vivo X90 became the world’s first smartphone on SoC Dimensity 9200.

However, places from second to ten belong to models equipped with SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1.

Second place went to OnePlus Ace Pro with 1,115,759 points, and third place went to Red Magic 7S Pro. Rounding out the Top 10 are iQoo 10 Pro, Lenovo Legion Y70, iQoo 10, Moto X30 Pro, Xiaomi 12S Pro, Redmi K50 Extreme Edition and Vivo X Fold+

Statistics collected from November 1 to November 30, 2022. The AnTuTu ranking uses averages, not the highest scores. For each smartphone, the results of at least 1000 tests were taken into account – models with fewer tests are not included in the rating.

39 Xiaomi Redmi and Poco phone models will receive MIUI

Xiaomi was supposed to unveil the MIUI 14 firmware and Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro flagship phones today, but the event was canceled due to the death of former Chinese President Jiang Zemin. However, a detailed list of innovations and changes implemented in MIUI 14 has already been published on the Web. Usually, such a list is shown to the user when installing a fresh firmware. So what’s new in MIUI 14?

Personalization options have been expanded: new widgets and “super icons” will appear, something like a Tamagotchi (animated image of a plant or pet) can now be installed on the home screen, and applications that are used most often will be highlighted in folders on the home screen.

In MIUI 14, you can click on any text in the gallery image, highlighting it in this way, and translate it into one of 8 languages. There will also be “live subtitles” in the system. The Mi Smart Hub app will be radically updated – it will work faster and get support for more devices. MIUI 14 will allow you to forward incoming calls to a tablet, and if the phone is connected to a TV and text input is required, then this can all be done on a smartphone.

MIUI 14 will bring family-focused services. It will be possible to create a group of up to 8 people with different restrictions for each and share content in the group. “Family services” will allow you to set a common album as a screensaver on TV, exchange data on the physical condition and vital signs of all members of the group. Child accounts have a range of parental controls, from limiting screen time to using apps only from the safe zone.

In MIUI 14, the Xiao AI proprietary voice assistant will be greatly improved: it can be used as a scanner, translator, spam call filter, etc.

Xiaomi has already talked about a number of other innovations in MIUI 14: the firmware file itself will become smaller, applications will take up less memory, and almost all pre-installed programs (with the exception of the eight main ones) can be deleted.

True, not all OnePlus phones will be updated for so long. The new policy will only affect “certain models”, and these will most likely be flagships. And the very first contender is OnePlus 11.

OnePlus also confirmed the release of OxygenOS 13.1 firmware in the first half of 2023. The emphasis will be on safety. Also, the company is already working on OxygenOS 14, but there are no details about it yet: it’s too early to talk about the firmware, which will be released in October-November next year.
