Black day for Samsung. Company leader jailed, stock plummeted

Samsung’s de facto CEO Lee Jae Yong, who has served as vice president but has led the company for recent years, was sentenced to two years and six months in prison by the South Korean Supreme Court.

He was tried for bribery and corruption, and for the second time. Park Geun-hye, a former president of the country, was also implicated in the case. Recently, the Supreme Court of South Korea dismissed the appeal and upheld a 20-year prison sentence.

News of the verdict led to a fall in Samsung Electronics shares by more than 4%. Experts say the verdict could create a leadership vacuum and prevent Samsung from making decisions about future large-scale investments. “This is a really big blow and a big crisis for Samsung,” said Kim Dae-jong, a business professor at Sejong University.

The court ruling states that Lee Jae Young “actively paid bribes and indirectly asked the president to use his power to help a smooth transition of power. It is unfortunate that Samsung, the country’s leading company and a proud global innovator, is involved in crime whenever there is a change in political power. ”

The court found Li guilty of bribery, embezzlement and concealment of criminal proceeds in the amount of about $ 7.8 million. He was first arrested in February 2017. And in August 2017, the court found him guilty and sent him to prison for five years. In February 2018, this sentence was cut in half and then released. The case was later sent back to the Supreme Court, which ruled today.

It can be stated that at 30x zoom, the quality of the images remains quite high for publication in social networks without visible blurs and loss of detail.

In addition, two photographs are presented, the second being made by cropping the original image.

Samsung Galaxy S23 smartphones may differ in speed versions with

As it became known, the versions of the Samsung Galaxy S23 smartphone equipped with 128 and 256 GB of flash memory differ in the type of this very memory.

The 128GB version uses slower UFS 3.1 memory. The 256GB version of the Galaxy S23 uses the new UFS 4.0 memory. In both cases, new LPDDR5X RAM is installed.

Allegedly, the base version may be slower in various scenarios than the 256GB version of the Galaxy S23. UFS 3.1 has a sequential read speed of 2100 Mbps and a sequential write speed of 1200 Mbps, while UFS 4.0 has a sequential read speed of 4200 Mbps and a sequential write speed of 2800 Mbps.

There is evidence that Samsung does not produce 128 GB UFS 4.0 memory chips. Only Kioxia makes 128GB UFS 4.0 memory, but even those don’t reach the required speeds. Therefore, Samsung decided to use UFS 3.1 flash memory for the lower version.

Samsung is offering a free upgrade for those who pre-order the Galaxy S23 series in many countries. For example, if you order the 128 GB version, you can get the 256 GB version.
