Be warned, the Vivo Y72 5G does not have a periscope camera, although due to the design it may seem like it is present. The smartphone is preparing for the announcement
Vivo is preparing to present its new smartphone. On March 22, the Y72 5G model will be announced, oriented, judging by the characteristics, to the middle price segment.
Despite the fact that the announcement has not yet taken place, a preliminary review has already been released on the Web, so now we know everything about the device.
So, the novelty is based on SoC MediaTek Dimensity 700, has 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of flash memory, a 6.58-inch IPS screen with Full HD + resolution and a 5000 mAh battery with support for 18-watt charging.
The main camera of the smartphone received a main 64-megapixel sensor, as well as sensors with a resolution of 8 and 2 megapixels. It is worth noting that the latter is located very amusingly (it is at the very bottom). Usually in smartphones, a periscope telephoto is distinguished in this way. It is placed separately because of the dimensions of the camera itself, and the hole in the body is made not round, but square. Whether Vivo intended to mislead users in this way is unclear, but someone might actually be wrong.
You can also note the package with headphones, charger and case.

This is how the contender for the title of the best camera phone in the world shoots. Real (not promotional) photos taken with the camera Oppo Find X6 Pro

Oppo today officially unveiled the Find X6 flagship smartphones, of which the Find X6 Pro is the most interesting – in its camera, an inch Sony IMX989 image sensor is combined with two Sony IMX890 sensors. This is one of the most powerful image sensor combinations in smartphones. Even before the premiere of the phone, Oppo showed mini-masterpieces captured by its camera, and now Ice Universe insider has published photos taken under normal conditions.
It is difficult to reproach an insider in advertising, and he obviously did not look for any particularly advantageous scenes. At the same time, the photos turned out to be very detailed and saturated.
In the caption to the photos, Ice Universe says: “Don’t worry, this is not an advertisement. OPPO Find X6 will not be sold in your country“. The insider points out that no matter how well the Find X6 Pro copes with shooting, not many will be able to buy it: the device will be sold only in China.
“OPPO Find X6 series is not included in the global list, which is a big loss for all mobile photography enthusiasts“, – sums up the insider. And while there hasn’t been any official word on the subject yet, Ice Universe is usually well versed on the subject. Previously, he was one of the first to talk about smartphones with waterfall screens, about the bangs in the iPhone X, about the new design of the iPhone 14 and about Samsung’s 200-megapixel image sensor.

A very old and slow platform, 2 GB of RAM, no microSD slot, but a more capacious battery. Presented budget smartphone Nokia C12 Pro

HMD Global has unveiled another budget smartphone Nokia C12 Pro. It’s a close relative of the C12 that debuted earlier this year, but it has a larger battery.
Instead of an element with a capacity of 3000 mAh, which is quite modest by today’s standards, the new model received a battery with a capacity of 4000 mAh. The C12 Pro also has a 3GB RAM version that the C12 didn’t have. Other than that, there doesn’t seem to be any difference.
The heart is still the very old and very slow SoC Unisoc 9863A1, which is produced using the 28 nm process technology and scores only about 100,000 points in AnTuTu 9. There is 2 or 3 GB of RAM, 64 GB of flash memory, and there is no microSD slot, there is also a 6.3-inch HD + screen and an 8 MP camera.
In India, they ask for a novelty from 85 dollars. By the way, the Nokia C12 model in Europe is sold for 120 euros, and we recall that it is a little worse.

Premium smartphones take record market share, with Apple holding two-thirds of the premium segment

Despite the economic crisis and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, in 2022 the premium smartphone segment felt great. So much so that for the first time in the history of the market, this segment accounted for more than half of all sales in monetary terms.
While the overall market fell 12%, sales of premium smartphones rose 1%. As a result, 55% of the total market revenue fell to the share of such devices. Here it is worth mentioning right away that Counterpoint analysts, who shared the statistics, refer devices with a price of $600 and above to the premium segment, while some other analysts take a count of $400.
Returning to the statistics, a record was also set in quantitative terms: premium models occupied 21% of the market. For comparison, in 2018 it was only about 13%, and in 2016 it was only about 7%.
The source also notes that the fastest growing segment was the one that includes smartphones with a price of $1,000 or more. Sales there increased by 38%.
The premium segment, of course, is led by Apple. The company occupied 75% of this market, increasing its share by 4 percentage points. And this is a record share for the Cupertino giant. Samsung is second with 16%, followed by Huawei (3%), Xiaomi (1%), Honor (1%) and Google (1%). The last two are worth highlighting as they increased sales by 110% and 118% respectively.
