Backward compatibility on PlayStation 5 is now clear

So Sony has finally finished its tests and delivered the results. If anyone does not know, earlier the company announced that it is testing PS4 games for compatibility with PS5, but almost everyone supposedly should work.

And now Sony has tested over 4,000 games, and it turned out that only 10 titles will not launch on the new console:

  • DWVR
  • Afro Samurai 2 Revenge of Kuma Volume One
  • TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge 2
  • Just Deal With It!
  • Shadow complex remastered
  • Robinson: The Journey
  • We sing
  • Hitman Go: Definitive Edition
  • Shadwen
  • Joe’s diner

To be honest, I think I’ve only heard of two of them – Robinson: The Journey and Hitman Go: Definitive Edition. In any case, hardly anyone will be upset. True, Sony clarified that there may still be some problems with some games, and some functions may not be available in a number of projects, but, apparently, top projects will not suffer. And it pleases.

And the PlayStation 5, like the new Xbox, will sometimes be able to improve on older games. However, in the case of the Sony console everything is more modest. There is a Game Boost feature that can improve performance, but implementation will depend on the specific game. For example, the developers of Ghost of Tsushima have already announced that their game supports this feature, so on the PlayStation 5 the game will run up to 60 fps versus 30 fps on PS4 and PS4 Pro.

By the way, if someone is going to buy a PlayStation 5, please write if backward compatibility is important to you and why.
