Asus Pro WS WRX80E-SAGE SE WIFI motherboard is designed for workstations
Asus has unveiled the Pro WS WRX80E-SAGE SE WIFI motherboard for workstations. The AMD WRX80 chipset supports AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO processors. The power supply subsystem is built on a 16-phase circuit.
E-ATX was chosen for the board, which made it possible to accommodate eight slots for memory modules with a total capacity of up to 2 TB and seven PCIe 4.0 x16 slots for expansion cards. In addition, there are three M.2 slots, each with a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface. In addition to the M.2 storage slots, there are eight SATA 6Gb / s ports and two U.2 ports, and the package includes a Hyper M.2 x16 Gen4 expansion card that can accommodate up to four additional M.2 SSDs.
On the I / O panel, there are two 10 GbE ports, eight USB Type-A ports USB 3.2 Gen2 (10 Gb / s) and two USB Type-C connectors, one of which brings the USB 3.2 Gen2 (10 Gb / s) interface and the other is USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 (20Gbps). In addition, there are male headers for two USB 3.2 Gen2 ports and one USB 3.2 Gen1 port. Wireless connectivity is provided by a WiFi 6 module.
The board boasts a variety of enterprise-grade features, including those that provide centralized remote monitoring and administration capabilities. In particular, this is a BMC controller that uses one of the Ethernet connectors of the Intel X550-AT2 network card to exchange data via the IPMI interface. In addition, there are built-in KVM facilities. The back side of the board is almost completely covered with a metal plate. The manufacturer does not name the price of the novelty.

System76 – a well-known manufacturer of Linux systems – introduced the Gazelle laptop. This model is equipped with a 14-core Intel Core i9-13900H processor and a GeForce RTX 3050 3D accelerator, making it one of the most powerful laptops preloaded with Linux. The OS here is either Ubuntu 22.04 LTS or Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS.
Gazelle has two options – with screens with a diagonal of 15.6 and 17.3 inches, but apart from the dimensions there are no differences: the specifications are the same, and even the screen parameters are the same – Full HD resolution and a frame rate of 144 Hz.
The maximum RAM (DDR4-3200 MHz) is 64 GB, the maximum SSD is 8 TB (there are two M.2 slots). The configuration also includes Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5 adapters, stereo speakers, a 1 MP webcam, and a 54 Wh battery. The weight of the 15-inch model is 1.99 kg, the 17-inch model is 2.41 kg. The cost is from 1300 dollars.
The range of MSI has replenished with a new monitor – G253PF. The device uses a 24.5-inch IPS panel with Full HD resolution and a high frame rate of 380Hz. The declared pixel response time (GtG) is only 1 ms, the maximum brightness and contrast are 300 cd/sq.m. and 1000 : 1, respectively.
The MSI G253PF complies with the DisplayHDR 400 standard and supports Adaptive Sync and G-Sync frequency synchronization technologies. There are two video inputs – DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0b, but the maximum frequency is available only when connected via the first one. If connected via HDMI 2.0b, the maximum frequency will be 240 Hz.
